The Corporate Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting team and ensuring the implementation of high-quality and efficient financial processes. The role involves managing the internal controls in accounting/finance, overseeing corporate division departments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and taking responsibility for audits, tax risks, and budget planning within the Tanzania Branch.
2. Key Responsibilities
A) Managerial Responsibilities:
- Statutory Audits/Tax Audits: Handle statutory and tax audits independently, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Team Management: Lead and manage the teams under your supervision by setting clear targets, providing guidance, and ensuring team performance meets expectations.
- Educational Guidance: Enhance team skills and efficiency by sharing your knowledge and providing learning opportunities.
- Process Documentation: Collaborate with other departments to document and visualize operational processes for greater transparency and effectiveness.
- Financial Strategy: Develop and implement the branch’s financial strategy, aligned with the group’s overall vision and goals.
- Budget Planning: Plan, execute, and manage the budget-making process within the branch with effective data collection and management.
- Monthly Financial Reporting: Supervise the accounting leader to ensure accurate and timely monthly closings, working closely with HQ for complex matters.
- Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all government regulations and policies.
- Policy Formulation and Execution: Develop policies based on factual information and ensure their proper implementation across the division.
- Annual Meetings: Organize and execute annual meetings with managers to review and share key insights with company members.
B) Functional Responsibilities:
- Financial Risk Consultation: Serve as the go-to person for addressing financial risks such as legal, tax, and contractual matters, suggesting effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Financial Performance Reporting: Summarize the branch’s financial performance monthly, comparing it with the budget and past trends, and propose measures to improve performance.
- Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest trends in accounting and finance by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Adherence to Professional Code of Conduct: Follow the Professional Code of Conduct (PICCO), upholding integrity, confidentiality, and objectivity at all times.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
3. Minimum Requirements
A) Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA/ACCA certification is required.
B) Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a high-volume transaction accounting department.
- At least 5 years’ experience in managerial accounting, including budget preparation, analysis, and reporting.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing teams of 5 or more people.
