Responsibilities and Key duties
- Coordinate purchasing activities with user departments in an efficient and cost-effective way.
- Ensure annual savings on the purchase of materials.
- Perform financial analysis, such as evaluations of total costs.
- Identify new suppliers, making recommendations to the buyer and conduct business assessments and evaluations.
Recommended:
- Process and monitor purchase requests and ensure that they are correct.
- Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price.
- Negotiating with vendors and building positive, long-term relationships.
- Preparing competitive retail and pricing strategies.
- Preparing budgets and forecasting purchasing trends.
- Compiling reports on product performance and statistics.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Head of Department
Requirements
Academic/Professional Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Economics, Procurement, or related field preferred.
- Registered with PSPTB will add an advantage
Work Experience
- Experience with purchasing activities with not less than 2 years in the related field
- Previous experience in merchandising or retail industry will add an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of Office 365, Outlook, and SAP
- An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image.
- An extremely well organized and self-directed individual with sound technical skilled, analytical ability, good judgement, and strong operational focus.

Fleet Officer at Dangote
Job Summary
Provide support for the implementation of DIL’s logistics policies and processes by participating in planning/ coordinating movement of cement products and/ or materials between the Plant and approved areas
Responsibilities and Key Duties
- Manage vehicular traffic, including loading activities (off-loading and on-loading) at the Plant to ensure overall orderliness and efficiency of depot operations.
- Ensure appropriate storage of incoming materials at the designated facilities in the Plant.
- Coordinate loading of products onto allocated trucks for dispatch to approved locations outside the Plant.
- Ensure that all plant logistics activities comply with DIL’s Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
- Coordinate efficient and timely loading of customers’ trucks with purchased products on a FIFO basis.
- Develop and submit reports of logistics activities at the Plant and provide recommendations where necessary.
- To ensure recovery of AGO for short kilometers.
- To ensure all accident and related documents are collected on time.
- To ensure all vehicles are coming with raw materials from designated location whenever there’s feasibility of collecting raw materials.
- To ensure timely allocation of vehicles for collecting spares and other required by plant or other used department. Liaising with Transporters acquiring information on: Arrival of Trucks, Truck Breakdowns, and any other Emergency Occurrences
- Perform any other duties assigned by your senior and Head of Department.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in business, Transport & logistics, or any other related field
- Minimum of two (3) years’ experience in logistics management
Skills and Behaviors
- Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
- Sound knowledge of DIL’s product and service offerings.
- Working knowledge of inventory management terminologies, methodologies and approach
- Basic knowledge of system-based inventory management systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and quality
- Willingness to learn, improve and adapt to changing requirements
- Basic knowledge of relevant supporting tools and technologies such as MS Excel, Project Management applications, etc.

- Dispatching all trucks on SAP before allowing them out
- Verifying all drivers on biometric system before dispatch
- Receiving and maintaining details of dispatched trucks in a register.
- Ensure dispatch of registered ATCs to the weighbridge in a timely manner.
- Maintain log of incoming and outgoing trucks from the Plant, with information including quantity of products, arrival/ departure time, name of driver, etc.
- Ensure that all plant logistics activities comply with Dangote Cement’s Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
- Coordinate efficient and timely loading of customers’ trucks with purchased products on a FIFO basis.
- Develop and submit reports of logistics activities at the Plant and provide recommendations where necessary.
