Responsibilities:
- Implementation of the monitoring and measurement programs including data collection and sampling for water quality, air quality, noise & vibration, meteorological.
- Manage the site water balance model and advise the responsible departments of any water balance related issues and actions, and follow up actions
- Keep updated ISOMETRIX and other systems with all environmental information regarding monitoring, inspections, training, incidents, audits, obligations and commitments as well as internal documentation.
- Must have 2-3 years of driving experience with no accident records (Manual Vehicle Driving) and be willing to undergo a driving test to demonstrate your skills.
- Participate in the implementation of ISO14001 (EMS)
- Gather monthly HSEC/Sustainability data from all departments, compile the spreadsheet reports and complete QA/QC for the data.
- Conduct quarterly water sampling & microbiological tests for potable water.
- Proper use and up keeping of the site environmental laboratory.
- Implement company’s Biodiversity and Closure Planning Management Standards
- Drive the compliance with mine closure legal and other requirements.
- Collect input data and update the closure liability estimates on an annual basis.
- Manage sitewide chemical register,
- Conduct quarterly hazardous material inspections.
- Maintain the calibration of all monitoring equipment.
- Capture all monitoring information and make use of GIS in the analysis and reporting of monitoring data
- Follow up of environmental actions at the assigned department to ensure continual improvement.
- Compile data for the sitewide environmental reports – weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental monitoring reports
- Oversee and supervise the activities of the field technicians and waste management operators.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualification requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, or Environmental Management from a reputable University
- Professional registration with NEMC as Environmental Expert (EIA and Auditing) is an added advantage.
- Computer literacy is essential – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Expert in the use of GIS and other specialized software’s for environmental management will be an added advantage.
- Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License is mandatory
Experience and competencies needed:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in environmental management in the extractive industry
- Understanding of the ISO 14001 certified environmental management system
- Experience and ability to work long hours in a remote site environment will be an added advantage.

Skills / knowledge requirements:
- Computer literacy is essential – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. The use of GIS and other specialized software’s for environmental management will be an added advantage.
- Ability to deal with large amounts of data, with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge and understanding environmental legislation particularly in the Tanzanian mining industry and regulatory set up.
- Environmental problems solving and, analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, both technical and non-technical
- Must be a motivated individual with the ability to operate with minimum supervision.

Reporting to: Geological Technician
Duration: Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment Monitoring:
- Follow all documented Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures, and ensure safe working environment; every person going home safe and healthy every day.
- Grade control drilling activities supervision
- Drilling production task monitoring, including downtime, standby time, etc.
- Drill core orientation, core marking and core recovery are completed accurately.
- Ensure all drill cores are clean, no grease or mud.
- Ensure Drill contractors are piling drill cores in correct manner according to the procedure.
- Ensure drill core delivered completed in a timely manner.
- Core orientation and marking up of diamond drill core.
- Other tasks as requested with time to time.
- Deliver timely peer and management feedback.
- Performing tasks under minimal supervision and monitoring.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Geology Senior Technician and/or Mine Geologists as it may be required.
- Being honest, respectively, transparent and act with integrity.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in Geology or Certificate in Secondary Education
- Hold a valid Tanzanian driving License and ability to drive manual gear vehicles (Mandatory).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year experience working in mining/exploration Environment.
- Must have driving experience with no accident records (manual gear vehicle Driving) and be willing to undergo a driving test to demonstrate your skills.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to Read & write – “English and Swahili.”
- Previous knowledge and skills in Diamond drilling activities (task) monitoring, including downtime, standby time, etc.
- Site induction, mine induction and JSA for duties
