The Faith Integration Capacity Building Technical Advisor provides high-quality technical advice and practical support to Field Offices in developing skills, capacities, and competencies necessary to enable the quality implementation and scale-up of F&D models and approaches in alignment with World Vision’s global strategy and country strategies. The role demands most of this support to be done virtually, digitally, through diverse, dynamic, and innovative adult learning and capacity-building methods—new and existing approaches and technologies to be utilized and improved upon for the highest efficiency and impact. The role will report to the Global Centre Faith & Development Programme Quality & Innovation Senior Advisor.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(a) Support Capacity Building of Faith & Development (F&D) Models and Approaches for staff and partners
- Harmonize, standardize and improve the capacity building (especially training of facilitators) process for all faith and development (F&D) core project models
- Contribute to the development of learning pathways for technical staff
- Ensure all F&D core project model (CPM) facilitator and trainer records are maintained
Utilize various standardized, innovative, digital, face-to-face, and hybrid adult learning methods to support Field Offices (FO) in building their capacity to scale up core project model implementation:
- Build a cadre of facilitators and trainers (including Master Trainers) across Field Offices, Regional Offices, and Support Offices who can deliver workshops and training (especially standardized Training of Facilitators) on Faith & Development core project models and key programme staff and partners (especially church and faith partners).
- Support regional office and field office leadership in planning, integrating, and implementing F&D core project models and approaches, as well as mentor and coach key field offices Faith & Development and technical staff.
Support via Technical Academy:
- Support all Faith & Development Technical Academy e-courses to help ensure quality, including supporting course owners, acting as Master Trainer as necessary, and taking the lead to promote all Faith & Development Technical Academy courses to achieve full enrolment.
- Build and manage a cadre of trainers for the Talent Academy Faith & Development courses.
(b) Support Capacity Building of World Vision’s Christian faith in strategy development, programme assessments, designs, baselines, and evaluations
- Provide technical advice and support for integration of Faith & Development into all stages of programme design.
- Through dynamic digital capacity-building methods, support field offices and other stakeholders to understand how to use the Spiritual Landscape Assessment (or equivalent) as a tool for strategy and programme design.
- Support FOs and other stakeholders with the necessary competencies to have our Christian faith inform and guide our work through WV’s Transformational Development approach and the drivers of sustainability, especially GESI and Social Accountability and the faith & development project models.
(c) Support Capacity Building of WV’s Christian Faith in Grant Acquisition
- Support national, regional, and global capacity building and training on the integration of faith models, approaches, and partnerships into grants.
- Work with grants acquisition management (GAM) leads and GAM Consultants to strengthen understanding and capacity faith integration across all stages of the Grant life cycle.
- Provide technical advice to grant design, development, and start-up as a means of building capacity in a Field Office or Region Office team.
- Increase the number of grant acquisition staff with knowledge, attitudes, and skills to integrate faith models, approaches, and partnerships into grant designs.

(d) In collaboration with regional office faith & development (F&D) Advisors, Knowledge Management F&D Advisors, and F&D Communications Advisors, promote learning and innovation in regional Offices, especially
- Help ensure feedback loops from the field office to the global center on faith and development implementation are effective for continuous improvement and learning.
- Support the Identification of field office innovations in faith and development programming, document and share these to promote active learning & continuous improvement.
- Support field offices to participate in and contribute faith & development good practice to cross-sector communities of practice and learning networks.
- Collaborate with knowledge management to support the sharing of good practices and lessons learned with external bodies and networks.
- Provide feedback from field offices and regionals to Global Centre Faith & Development (F&D) to update and improve F&D project models.
(e) Professional Development
- Commitment to ongoing learning for professional development and growth.
- Keep up to date with industry standards and approaches to faith integration in programming and dynamic/innovative approaches to online/digital adult learning methods.
Required Professional Experience, Education and/or Certification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant technical area.
- 5 years of field-level experience in development programmes
- 5 years of experience working with World Vision’s Faith & Development models and approaches or similar experience
- High digital literacy and ability to effectively navigate, influence, and support adult learning and capacity building in a digital, virtual environment.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, using complex formulas, SharePoint, MS Teams management, MS forms (and other digital data collection tools)
- Ability to influence and build consensus when diverse viewpoints exist
- Solid understanding and practical experience of Transformational Development and WV’s Development Programme Approach
- Knowledge of Disaster Management Evaluation (DME) methods and World Vision’s approach to DME and programme quality assurance (advanced knowledge preferred)
- Experience integrating faith models, approaches, and partnerships into grant acquisition and/or implementation.
- Proven experience across multiple regions and contexts.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Additional French and Spanish fluency preferred.
- Fragile humanitarian experience is an added advance.
- Professional training in adult learning techniques and Christian holistic development theory is highly preferred.
Required travel and/or work environment accommodations.
- Must have a conducive home working environment and strong, reliable internet and power situation.
- This position travels up to 30% of the time.
- Given the global, digital, and virtual nature of this role, it often requires hours outside of standard working hours in any given timezone (i.e., willingness to work before 8 am and/or after 5 pm some days).
