Quotation To Supply 18 Metallic Buoys

The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) mission is to protect the lands and waters upon which all life depends. In Tanzania, TNC collaborates with various stakeholders to promote sustainable community development through the sustainable and equitable management of fisheries resources.

Recommended:

The Lake Tanganyika project is focused on ensuring that established community

fisheries and freshwater biodiversity are effectively managed and protected, thereby improving livelihoods of fishing coastal communities. To this end, TNC, in partnership with Nkasi District, has successfully mapped 13 designated community fish breeding areas and 14 temporarily closed areas. While mapping is a crucial step towards ensuring the health of these critical habitats, the effective protection of these areas is heavily reliant on the clear identification and marking of their boundaries.

The lack of clearly marked boundaries has led to misunderstanding between Beach

Management Units (BMUs) and fishermen, who assert that the lack of clearly defined boundaries in these areas hampers effective management.

In light of this, TNC, through the Lake Tanganyika Program, is seeking a qualified vendor to manufacture and supply 18 non-rustic metallic buoys in Kipili, Nkasi District, Rukwa Region.
