1. Accountant and Administration Officer

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reporting to: Finance Officer
Contract Type: Permanent Employee (1-year Contract, Immediate Start)
Grade and Salary: Grade C, Salary AFO 4-5

The Accountant and Administration Officer will manage AFO’s day-to-day accounting and administrative functions. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting various office administration tasks. The successful candidate will ensure that the organization’s financial and administrative activities are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily financial data entry and record maintenance using QuickBooks.
  • Oversee and manage all organizational accounts, financial documentation, and administrative records.
  • Assist in preparing payment forms, updating cash books, and managing petty cash.
  • Handle TRA Taxpayer Portal declarations, NGO registry updates, and mandatory contributions to NSSF and WCF.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures and prepare necessary financial documents for regulatory submissions and audits.
  • Assist in office administration, including the payment of bills and management of supplies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting and administration roles.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office Suite (Excel will be tested).
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax laws.
