Process Analyst at Watu Credit

Reporting to: Head of Process

Role purpose:

Empower operating teams by driving efficiency, ensuring accountability and operational integrity. You will create new processes and systems as well as improve existing ones. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded, data-driven businessperson who excels in data analysis, project management, stakeholder management, and communication.

Recommended:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve deep understanding of business needs and processes
  • Engage business leaders on current processes, gaps, and anticipated changes
  • Drive efficiency through process mapping and identification of opportunities
  • Create systems for operating teams to use, primarily in Google Cloud Platform
  • Provide initial training and support for operating teams until they are self-sufficient
  • Design and conduct experiments to quantitatively identify best practices

Qualifications (Required):

  • SQL
  • Spreadsheet management

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • University degree in a quantitative field
  • Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Statistics, Econ, Math, MIS
  • Dashboarding
  • Python

Your journey to becoming a rockstar process analyst:

  • 1st two weeks: Learning the business
  • You will complete side by sides with various departments, watching operating teams do their jobs and learning how various functions connect to each other
  • 2nd two weeks: Learning the trade
  • You will work with other process analysts to support their ongoing system development and optimization.
  • You may also have an internship with our analytics team to sharpen your data skills and acquaint you to GCP
  • Months 2-3: Taking Ownership & Adding Value
  • Supported by your manager and team, you will own a project from end-to-end

Life as a process analyst:

We have daily morning huddles, weekly 1:1s with your manager, and regular side-by-sides with operating teams. Work from home 1 day per week, travel ~10%.

In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures in the different departments. You will focus on learning how our organization runs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitoring and payment control of assigned portfolio of clients using Company software.
Ensuring clients’ adherence to payment schedules through pro-active follow up calls and reminders.
In case of clients overdue, identifying and implementing the most efficient debt recovery methods and techniques.
Following up on phone calls with overdue clients to ensure debtor’s accounts are up to date.
Maintaining records about clients’ financial status, reporting daily to the management.
Developing and strengthening client’s relationships, regularly updating clients on Company policies and new products, providing tailor-made financial solutions through the range of products offered by the Company.
Providing training and sharing knowledge with Interns/Trainees employed by the Company.
Any other duty as may be assigned by the management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related studies
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt quickly and work independently.
Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
Fluent in English and Swahili.
Integrity, enthusiasm and passion for continuous learning and development
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously in an organization with diverse business operations.
High attention to detail and internal control.

As a Customer Care Intern also supports marketing operations by performing various clerical tasks, such as updating computer databases, writing consumer rating reports, providing market research studies, and collaborating with other departments on deliverables.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handling external communications with customers includes inbound and outbound calls and SMS from customers and handling their inquiries and complaints.
  • Telesales through outbound and inbound calls to generate leads and clients.
  • Building and maintaining clients and leads databases.
  • Regular follow up with leads generated through customer care log and convert them to clients.
  • Handling and resolving customer queries and complaints regarding product sales to customer service problems.
  • providing customers with the organization’s service and product information.
  • Processing forms, orders, and applications requested by the customers.
  • Identifying, escalating priority issues and reporting to the high-level management.
  • Obtaining and evaluating all relevant data to handle complaints and inquiries.
  • Recording details of comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken.
  • Managing administration, communicating and coordinating with internal departments.
  • Compiling data, preparing reports, weekly recollection etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proven experience as a customer service or telesales officer
  • Good understanding of office management, sales and marketing principles
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines

  • Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach
  • Good knowledge of market research techniques and databases
