Position Overview
We seek an experienced Site Engineer, preferably familiar with remote site high end hospitality projects and contracts, with a career focus on construction, to join our team in the Serengeti to assist with the construction of a luxury lodge.
The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects at site from initial excavations to topping out of structures, including installation of services by appointed sub-contractors and service providers.
The successful candidate’s role is crucial to ensuring the execution of construction works to be within specification and predefined constraints, whilst adopting a pro-active approach to operations with effective planning, outstanding communication skills and the ability to motivate large teams with a common goal of project success at the forefront.
Safety of all at site is without a doubt paramount to project success, for this reason the successful candidate will be well versed in all aspects of construction safety, ensuring teams at site conduct themselves in accordance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities of a Site Engineer:
i. Management and supervision of all site activities, including teams physically executing the works.
ii. Ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
iii. Effectively manage materials usage, minimize wastage and loss,
ensure sufficient materials are available prior to the start of any
activities planned
iv. Plan activities in advance considering all requirements for successful execution to meet deliverables
v. Compile and distribute method statements of planned works for
approval and follow approved method statements when executing works
vi. Foster a positive and productive work environment at site
vii. Carry out all responsibilities in a pro-active manner, considering
all potential problems and risks and implement mitigating actions
viii. Collaborate with the Site Manager to develop and implement
detailed plans for works to be executed in the short and medium term
ix. Assist the Site Manager with daily updates to the Program of Works
and planning of works to be in line with the approved Program of Works
x. Assist the Site Manager with raising of queries to the Design Team in the correct format
xi. Build and maintain a strong culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Job requirements:
i. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
ii. 2+ years of experience in construction, with a focus on project delivery and exceptional quality.
iii. Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams to achieve operational excellence.
iv. Strong understanding of technology and its role in construction.
v. Ability to accurately set out structures in a green fields environment.
vi. Excellent planning, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
vii. Ability to “make a plan” whenever circumstances dictate.
viii. Must have experience with MS Projects and MS Office Suite.
ix. Must be experienced in the use of Auto Cad
x. Must be able to read Construction Drawings
xi. Will be self-motivated and energetic toward responsibilities.
xii. Will have experience working with a team with vast cultural differences.
xiii. Will be respectful of all team members at all times.

We seek an experienced Site Manager, preferably experienced in remote site high end hospitality construction projects, to join our team in the Serengeti National Park to manage the construction site of a luxury lodge aimed to attract international guests.
The Site Manager’s role is crucial to ensuring the execution of construction works to be within specification and predefined constraints, whilst adopting a pro-active approach to operations with effective planning, outstanding communication skills and the ability to motivate large teams with a common goal of project success at the forefront.
Key Responsibilities of a Site Manager:
i. Management of all aspects of the construction site.
ii. Ensure materials are made available to the Site Engineer in a timeous manner.
iii. Plan activities in advance considering all requirements for
successful execution are available to meet deliverables whilst
mitigating risks to the contractor.
iv. Collaborate with the Site Engineer to develop and implement detailed
plans for works to be executed in the short and medium term.
v. Carry out daily reporting on progress of all activities, material usage, resources at site and weather conditions.
vi. Oversee the compiling and distribution of method statements for planned works.
vii. Oversee the completion and submission of as built drawings.
viii. Foster a positive and productive work environment at site.
ix. Assist the Site Engineer with daily updates to the Program of Works
and planning of works to be in line with the approved Program of Works.
x. To provide a 30 day look ahead schedule to allow for effective planning, resourcing and material purchases.
xi. Pro-actively ensure any defects in workmanship are addressed to
prevent a lengthy taking over of the works by the client and operator.
xii. Pro-actively report any potential delays and means of overcoming them.
xiii. Prepare documents for payment of wages to site staff.
xiv. Oversee site stores.
xv. Build and maintain a strong culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement at site.

ii. 5+ years of experience in construction as a Site Manager, with a focus on project delivery and exceptional quality.
iii. Proven track record of successfully completing projects, on time, within budget and at the highest level of quality.
