Coater Operator at ALAF
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the control desk at the coater room
- Check the production order requirements and prepare its inputs in advance
- Check quality of the materials used, applicator rolls, pick up rolls and maintain the process parameters
Recommended:
- Set correct gap required for the applicator and pick-up rolls
- Feed the process parameters into the scada as required
- Ensure the material is treated using the recommended procedure before paint is applied.
- Carryout Autonomous maintenance and housekeeping of the section
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines as per company policy
- Fill in the operation parameters as specified in the coater room logbook
Qualifications required:
- Minimum academic qualification: Minimum Form 4 Level
- Qualifications as an added advantage: Craft Certificate in mechanical or paint process exposure
Experience required:
- General work experience (years): 6 months
- Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): Min: 6 months
- Industry: Manufacturing

- Troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC system, and other related instrumentation equipment like temperature sensors, limit switches, proximity sensors, flow switches, flow monitors, pressure switches etc.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years working experience.
- Proven experience working in electrical engineering roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Registered with ERB as Graduate Engineer
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Proficiency in electrical design software, CAD tools, and PLC programming.
- Familiarity with industrial automation systems, control systems, and motor drives.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.

Electrical Technician at ALAF
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and implementing effective solutions to minimize production downtime.
- Conducting preventive maintenance inspections on electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components such as motors, switches, sensors, and control panels.
- Collaborating with other departments to identify electrical needs and requirements for new projects or upgrades.
- Attend PM activities at MCL, CRM, CCL when required during SSD
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols while performing electrical maintenance and repair tasks.
- Execute planned PM for SSD (scheduled shut down)
- Ensure safety measure and switch gear safety test are done as required.
- Assist in monitoring and maintenance of substation includes recording of meter reading.
- Attend promptly to machine breakdowns
- Documenting maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.

- Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Production Engineer at ALAF
- Overall production and quality management at CCL.
- Oversee the Colour Coating process and ensure cost effective production.
- Ensure production targets are met through daily execution of Production Programmes at CCL.
- Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs to ensure timely production and acceptable quality.
- Ensuring optimum equipment capacity utilization against requirements; analyse quality and quantity of production and initiate corrective actions to eliminate deficiencies.
- Monitor order priorities/ backlogs, equipment breakdowns, and other aspects affecting planned schedules; initiate solutions for repetitive equipment failures and product complaints.
- Drive the implementation and usage of systems of production tracking (SAP) and inventory Control including bar code system.
- Schedule and organise the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
- Support Maintenance programmes to ensure CCL and other allied equipment are healthy.
- Cost and consumption control of Paints, gas, electrical energy, APR, etc. at CCL to ensure that they conform to the Budget targets.
- Manpower management ensuring discipline across the shop floor and reduction of avoidable costs. (working out the human and material resources needed)
- Supervising and motivating a team of workers; reviewing worker performance, appraisal of subordinates and identifying training needs.
- Ensure compliance to Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies and guidelines.
- Maintain system conformance to ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001 standards at and CCL.
