Country Director, Tanzania

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Salary: GBP c60,000, plus benefits

We work with farmers, rural communities and businesses in east Africa to boost yields, protect the environment and connect smallholder farmers to thriving markets.

We are recruiting a Country Director to lead the further development of our exciting and growing programme in Tanzania, someone with the drive and ability to engage with the private sector, institutional donors, and other agriculture sector stakeholders, to create and lead on new opportunities, grow the pipeline and expand both our geographical and technical footprint.

The Country Director in Tanzania plays a key role within Farm Africa’s global senior leadership and you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for Farm Africa’s Tanzanian country programme, in line with our global strategy.

You will have a successful track record of working at Country Director level or equivalent, within the private sector, the NGO sector and a strong understanding of donor environments, working closely with communities and government.

You will have experience of Farm Africa’s technical programme areas in agriculture market system development, and/or natural resource managment, and have track record in strategic planning and human resource management. Exceptional networking, relationship building and financial management skills are pre-requisites.
