Workshop Supervisor
To ensure that the workshop is aligned with current strategy/policies, targets are reached and communicate them for the workshop to have an impact on the technical support desk for Sandvik Tanzania. Responsible for the safe repair and maintenance of Sandvik parts and equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide technical support to customer’s service personal as required.
Mentor and train identified national staff in order to ensure staff development is maintained and succession goals are met.
Ensure all areas where Employees are working meet Sandvik’s Safety standards and targets.
Work safe to ensure the Sandvik “Zero Harm” and “Developing a Culture of Consequence” programs.
Promote Sandvik SHEQ culture across the workshop operations and ensure timely reporting of hazards, near misses and incidents.
Supervise and ensure that subordinates are performing tasks to the required standards.
Conduct basic routine tasks and delegate them to Technicians.
Ensure sufficient task analysis is completed to carry work out safely.
Always adhere to Sandvik occupational health and safety guidelines.
Adhere to compliance when performing routine maintenance on his/her
domain and equipment maintenance schedule, Quality, and standard of
work.
Conduct weekly departmental meeting and submit reports.
Promote staff cohesion and morale.
Coach subordinates to do troubleshooting and problem solving.
Ensure all activities are being carried out in accordance with Company
Values and current Company policies and procedures including those in
relation to Safety, Health, Environment & Quality.
Qualification:
Trade Test qualified Grade I or Mechanical Full Technician Certificate.
Experience:
3 years working experience in Mechanical Fitter Field
Must have knowledge of:
Sandvik parts & equipments
Problem-solving skills
Supervisor skills
Computer literate / electronic diagnostic tools and systems
