Mlele District is one of the two districts of the Katavi Region of Tanzania. Mlele District was formed in 2012 out of part of Mpanda District.Mlele District Council lies between latitudes 5 degree to 15.03’south
and 7 degree to 3 degree South of Equator and Longitude 300 to 310.31
East of Greenwich and an area of 15,896 square Kilometers.
Administratively, the Council has three (3) Divisions, namely: Inyonga, Mamba, and Mpimbwe: thirteen (13) wards namely Ilela, Ilunde, Inyonga, Kibaoni, Mamba, Mbede, Usevya, Ikuba, Majimoto, Nsekwa, Mbede, Kasansa, Mwamapuli and Utende and Fouty Three (43) villages and 219 hamlets (Vitongoji).
