History
Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) is a government institution of the United Republic of Tanzania and was established by the Act No. 2 of the Tanzania Meteorological Authority of 2019 that was passed by the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania and thereafter signed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli on 13th February 2019.

Tanzania
Meteorological Authority has been officially inaugurated by the
Minister for Works, Transport and Communication, Hon. Eng. Isack
Kamwelwe (MP) ON 05TH September 2019.
The Authority is the only
mandated institution of the United Republic of Tanzania for provision of
Meteorological Services within the boundaries of the country.
The
Headquarters of the Tanzania Meteorological Authority are currently
located in Dar es Salaam; however, the Authority serves also through
several offices and stations located over regions of the country.
Tanzania
Meteorological Authority is currently operating under the Ministry of
Works, Transport and Communications of the United Republic of Tanzania.
