JOB SUMMARY
Key Performance Indicators
- Deliver physical resources and appropriate technologies to over 3,500 small scale farmers per year(55% women, 50% youth).
- Oversee evaluation, selection, and procurement of over 45 water conservation units, 60 propagation units, 30 small mechanization units, 1,250 kilograms of diversified seed, and 125 tonnes of organic inputsfor small scale farmers per year.
- Provide field training in proper application and maintenance of appropriate technologies and ensure achievement of world-class outcomes including increased productivity for 80% of small-scale farmer beneficiaries and increased value addition on local produce for 100%of small-scale farmer direct beneficiaries.
- Oversee procurement, installation, and operational establishment of two 600 sq. ft. multiwall double-glazed solar dryers.
- Provide technical input to the development of two cooperative horticulture quality assurance and preservation facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES
Experience and Technical Skills
- At least 5 years professional experience in a similar role.
- Excellent mechanical and technical skills including direct experience operating horticulture production technologies and facilities.
- Budgeting and financial tracking experience.
- Engineering, project management, and enterprise development training and experience are assets.
- Procurement.
- Proficiency in digital applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili.

Key Performance Indicators
- Deliver continuous in-field training on increasing climate-smart horticulture productivity and production for more than 700 small scale farmers per year (52% women, 50% youth) through a Training of Trainers (TOTs) and Farmer Field School (FFS) framework.
- Provide intensive off-site instruction at partner training centres to more than 165 small scale farmers per year (55% women, 50% youth).
- Establish at least 2 model climate-smart organic farms at the ward level with leading small-scale farmers.
- Oversee the nursery propagation and field planting of more than 25,000 horticulture crops and tree seedlings per year.
- Ensure achievement of world-class outcomes including increased diversity of production for 90% of small-scale farmer trainees and an average 50% increase in farmer yields.

- Support the engagement of more than 22 external horticulture investors, processors, exporters, and buyersin project activities per year.

- Ensure achievement of world class operational outcomes including; increased yields for 80% of small scale farmer beneficiaries ; improved knowledge and practice for 95% of nutrition beneficiaries ; increased income for >70% enterprise beneficiaries; and improved financial literacy for 80% of financial inclusion beneficiaries.

- Complete regular performance appraisals for technical staff as per CFP policy and advise on related personal growth and professional development plans.
- Recommend disciplinary actions for technical staff to executive officers as necessary.
