Responsibilities and Duties
- The nutrition officer will work under the general supervision of the program coordinator and will require independent initiative in the preparation, and implementation of nutrition activities in the target areas.
- He/She will coordinate and implement the nutrition activities through increasing market access and consumption of diverse and quality vegetables.
- He/She will establish network of LGA community development officers that raise awareness and coach community leaders on the importance of high-nutrition diets.
- He/She will establish women and youth peer groups in the FBOs to promote high-nutrition diets.
- He/She will support establishment of commercial high nutritious traditional vegetable seeds production.
- Raise community awareness and consumption of diversified, nutrient dense, fortified and nutritionally adequate vegetables.
- Improve nutritional status and intervention through increasing production of diverse and safe vegetables, increased household food availability and gender sensitive interventions.
- Coordinating capacity building and technical support for beneficiaries on nutrition issues including nutrition dietary diversification and nutrient dense diets.
- Work with the M&E officer to monitor beneficiary adoption of the new nutrition targeted practices and vegetable consumption methodologies.
- Promoting food safety including appropriate methods of handling, preservation, processing, storage and utilization of foods.
- Disseminating and promoting/demonstrating vegetable preparation and utilization; best practices; and energy and time saving methods for women.
- Establish linkages and facilitating collaboration across relevant sectors, agencies and public stakeholders working with the targeted community.
- Executing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Strengthen and promote community engagement processes in the project areas, particularly identifying project beneficiaries, assessing their needs and addressing and resolving community issues.
- Perform and document regular monitoring of all project activities in close coordination with the M&E officer.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all people involved in project implementation and maintain the highest standards of behaviour when working with the project beneficiaries.
- Adherence to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in policies and procedure manuals.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with all staff and for attending and participating in regular staff meetings.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in nutrition and or related fields,
- Have at least 5 years relevant work experience in enhancing nutrition awareness raising, preferably with rural communities.
- Experience with development and dissemination of nutrition promotional materials for rural communities through use of varieties of media is highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of CPD, takes part in drawing up of Annual Budget through identifying activities to be done, duration etc., within the framework of Policy Guidelines.
- Conduct trainings on soil and water conservation, land-use management, farmer innovations in soil and water management, organic farming and sustainable agriculture.
- Co-ordinates and implements training activities under the Institution Capacity Building of Vi Agroforestry Core Partners Project, Sustainable agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Conservation.
- Co-ordinates project activities in the Dodoma areas particularly Chemba and Kondoa Districts, in collaboration with other trainers.
- Oversee and support ICBP project officers in the co-ordination and implementation of project activities, including organizational capacity building of targeted NGOs and CBOs located in Mara, Mwanza and Kagera Regions
- Drafts Educational Materials in consultation with and the supervision of the CPD and in collaboration with other trainers and the Managing Director
- Prepare activity and monthly reports, under the supervision and evaluation of the CPD.
- Collaborates with other trainers in carrying out of Social Studies, Researches and other Consultancy Assignments undertaken in accordance with the planning of activities and after agreement with the Managing Director.
- Undertakes any other duties as may be assigned by the line manager and or The Managing Director of the NO.
