Technology Transfer and Commercialization (ATTC) project. ATTC
contributes to improving Africa’s food safety through the use of
Aflasafe — a 100 percent natural product for fighting aflatoxin from
plot to plate. Our activities are geared toward increasing Aflasafe’s
availability and accessibility and to improve farmer access to lucrative
aflatoxin-conscious markets for maize and groundnuts. Through these
activities, we will contribute to enhancing Africa’s food safety and
security and to increasing income from farming enterprises. We are
looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in

Responsibilities include:
- Provide billable field-based technical assistance to the ATTC project to finalize the development of a business case for Aflasafe
- Directly contact and interview key informants from each segment of the value chain after harvest — including, but not limited to, producers, aggregators, processors, transporters, and exporters
- Prepare written profiles (summaries) of aggregators, processors, and other potential clients in the maize and groundnut value chains in Tanzania
- Collect and verify data and validate the project’s value chain research
- Analyze political, economic, and social trends in the maize and groundnut sectors in Tanzania
- Promptly respond to feedback that meets organizational and client expectations
- Ensure that this critical project deliverable is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Minimum of seven years of technically relevant work experience required, particularly in an East African context
- Demonstrated background working within Tanzania’s maize and groundnut industries, with a network of contacts for key stakeholders in each value chain segment from production to commercialization
- Strong logistical skills, demonstrated analytical and leadership skills, and ability to take initiative
- Flexibility, responsiveness, self-direction, and an ability to pivot based on evolving business case and client needs
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Language proficiency in English and Swahili preferred

Position Profile-

- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in hospitality & Hotel Management is highly recommended
- Proven proficiency in computerized applications to Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- At least three to five (3-5) years of management experience in 5-star bush lodges or camps.
- Excellent English and communication skills, to work with both high end clientele and staff.

- Meeting and greeting guest on arrival, guest check-ins and check-outs of the lodge, all guests should be met on arrival by the manager on duty.
- Maintaining the smooth operations of the Lodge and perform the Managers duties in the absence of the Lodge Manager.
- Housekeeping and management of the facility.
- Managing all staff reporting to the position so as to effectively assist, motivate and monitor their activities.
- Immediately report to the Lodge Manager all matters and issues arising that may affect the continued smooth running of the Lodge operation.
- Managing of client shop properly and ensure the company expected output from the shop.
- Menu/Procurement planning and administration
- To ensure all Mwiba River Lodge’s and Legendary Lodge’s projects are completed within budget while optimizing resources
- Ensuring the housekeeping standards are upheld according to company standards
- Preparation of lodge cash flow budgets and monitoring of ongoing cash requirements.
- Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing lodge policies and emergency procedures associated with the lodge as Relief Lodge Manager.
- Provide a high level of customer service and ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all guests.
- Housekeeping, kitchen work and maintenance to be carried out at the lodge as required.
- Overseeing maintenance of property as well as gardens relating to the lodge.
- Responsible for ensuring the guest and staff meals are of the highest standard.
- Ensure that orders are placed timeously as well stored and controlled to ensure consistency in the guest experience
- Working with agents as well as Arusha base office to ensure guest have a unique experience
- Providing Month end reports to the lodge manager and directors as required (guest experience, occupancy, any major incidences at the lodge, financial reports related to budgets)

- Assist in undertking Company’s civil/building engineering works such as structural designs, calculations and drawing detailing, site supervision of building, and any other civil/building works
- Develop, maintain and co-ordinate construction and maintenance plans for civil/building works undertaken by the company.
- Prepare technical standards and specifications for the design of civil and building works undertaken by the company to ensure the highest standards are maintained in executed works, taking particular note of the company’s engineering instructions.
- Superivise and monitor civil and building projects assgned, including the preparation of regular project performance/accomplishement reports.
- Enhance safety matters in the section to ensure safety to employees, customers and equipment at work sites.
- Review/scanning by cheking at structural and archtectural drawings if they tally with quantities (BOQ) and other managerial responsibilities.
- Must have a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural and/or buildings) or equivalent from any recognized higher learning institution/collages.
- Must be registered by Professional Board (ERB) with atleast 3 years experience after registration.

- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.

- Preparing and supervising the implementation of preventive maintenance schedule for the section and advise accordingly;
- Keeping and updating technical reports, drawings and other documents;
- Conducting daily inspection of DDC’s buildings;

- Must be able to work flexible hours; and
- To prepare periodic reports on the status of electrical systems management in the Corporation.
