Role overview
The Kila Mtoto, Kila Mama project aims to
save the lives of vulnerable mothers and newborns in Mtwara region of
Tanzania. Focusing on strengthening both the supply and demand side of
maternal and newborn health (MNH) continuum.
The ideal person will
provide management, coordination and direction to the Kila Mtoto, Kila
Mama project. This includes volunteer recruitment and management;
managing implementing partners and stakeholders relationships; ensuring
project deliverables, financial management, reporting and networking. If
you are passionate about making a difference for marginalised mothers
and babies, giving them a voice, this is your job!
Skills, qualifications and experience
Essential:
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, e.g. public health or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience of managing health projects with a particular focus on maternal and newborn projects
• Demonstrated experience of applying project cycle management practices at a project or community level
• Demonstrated success at networking and partnership development
• Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, monitoring and managing expenditure
• Proven ability to manage, develop and motivate others within a team
• Demonstrated ability at successfully monitoring and evaluating projects
• Evidence of leadership skills including handling complex situations to an effective conclusion.
• Oral and written fluency in English, with confidence in communicating to a wide range of audiences
• IT literate (Microsoft packages)
• Self-motivated, ability to use own initiative, flexibility.
• Excellent coordination and planning skills with experience of working under pressure. Time management skills.
Desirable:
• Practical experience gained within an volunteering NGO context
• Commitment to VSO’s work and values
• Experience and knowledge of project location

Role overview
The
Ideal Candidate primary responsibilities will be to drive passengers,
run errands and undertake other logistical activities. Consistently
ensure that Project vehicle and driving policies and good practice are
followed at all times. Manage vehicles as requested, including cleaning;
checking toolbox contents are complete also daily checks.
Skills, qualifications and experience
Essential:
Form 4 or 6 certificate, Full valid and clean driving licence and
significant level of driving experience with minimum of 4 years and
above.
Experience:
• Familiar with and able to under-take basic 4WD vehicle check.
• Excellent knowledge of the Country geography
• Good understanding and Speak-ing English.
• Holding of secondary School Certificate
• Able to travel and spend time away from home for extended periods of time
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
• Flexibility to adapt to new situations, with a positive attitude to
working in an international or-ganisation with progressive work
standards

• Experience working with inter-national Non-Government Organizations
