Job Title: Business Development Manager
Reports To: Director of Business Development
Duty Station: HQ – Dar es Salaam
Main Purpose of the Job (Job Summary):
The
role-holder will act as a link between the Trust and its customers to
lead the organization in growth by designing projects, developing
projects and implementation plans, as well as overseeing team
performance and development.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and comprehensive business management of the PASS Trust, including business generation, customer relationships, sales, and marketing in line with the Trust’s strategic objectives.

Plan, organize, and coordinate day-to-day business development activities of the organization.
-
Research and develop market opportunities through recommending competitive products and services.
-
Build and nurture customer relationships through engagements and the closing of new business opportunities.
-
Develop and implement an effective strategic business development plan in line with the organization’s business strategy to ensure business growth and achievement of targets.

Provide reports on the state of the business to EXCOM and the Board.

Spearhead business and revenue growth through the development and implementation of different strategies.

Attract new potential customers and find new marketing and sales opportunities, initiate action plans to approach and secure new business (seal deals).

Implement an acquisition strategy focused on building and maintaining high-quality, long-term relationships with customers.

Market the Trust’s products and services, promote, and inform stakeholders of the Trust’s role in the agricultural sector during meetings with potential clients, visits to clients, and participating in key stakeholders’ forums and financial institutions.

Perform any other related duties assigned by the superior from time to time.
Academic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Accounts, Banking, or a related field from a recognized University.

Professional qualification and extensive experience in business development.
-
A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
Experience & Skills:
-
Minimum of five (5) years proven experience in business development, credit analysis, and/or relationship banking, with at least three (3) years at a managerial level.
-
Good knowledge and experience in Tanzanian agriculture and agribusiness development, business planning, project analysis, monitoring, and evaluation.
-
Knowledge in agricultural financing and experience in facilitating lending to smallholder farmers, including negotiating with banks.
-
Demonstrable experience in agricultural supply chain interventions to enhance micro, small, and medium-scale agricultural development.

Job Title: Senior Officer – Risk and Compliance
Reports To: Managing Director

Main Purpose of the Job (Job Summary)
The
Senior Officer – Risk and Compliance is responsible for overseeing risk
management tasks for the Trust and its subsidiaries, ensuring adherence
to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The officer will
conduct periodic reviews to assess compliance with the Trust’s policies
and procedures across all departments, reporting findings to the
supervisor. The role also involves working closely with all areas of the
business to promote a positive risk and compliance culture, ensuring
effective risk management, and compliance with policies, procedures, and
laws governing the operations of the Trust and its subsidiaries.
Main Responsibilities
-
Facilitate and ensure that the PASS Trust and its subsidiaries’ risks are assessed and risk management strategies are developed.
-
Conduct risk assessments for all new products being developed and regularly assess the Trust and its subsidiaries’ existing products (at least every 2 years).
-
Ensure that risk management documents (e.g., risk management framework, manual, registers, business continuity plan, and disaster recovery plan) are developed, updated, and kept current at all times.
-
Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation and discuss emerging compliance issues with management and employees.
-
Develop and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
-
Advise management and business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs.
-
Monitor the performance of credit guarantee portfolios from partner banks, leasing products, and other financial institutions.
-
Recommend remedial or appropriate actions to address deteriorating credit guarantee portfolios identified through early warning signals during credit review processes.
-
Participate in the review of credit guarantee policies, procedures, and the updating of the credit guarantee manual.
-
Provide employee training on risk and compliance-related topics, policies, and procedures.
-
Raise violations of compliance or regulatory standards to the internal audit manager.
-
Collaborate with the human resources unit to ensure consistent disciplinary actions are applied in cases of violation of compliance requirements.

This position provides a highly professional and wide-ranging service to the Chair of the Board, the Board members, and senior leadership.
Main Responsibilities
Managerial Support

Legal Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations.
