Responsibilities
- Investigation Duties:
- Conduct investigations into workplace misconduct, policy violations, and security breaches.
- Gather evidence, interview employees and witnesses, and document findings.
- Prepare detailed investigation reports with recommendations for management.
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing security-related incidents and risks.
- Conduct post incident reviews and provide detailed assessments/ reports to that effect.
- Ensure all investigations are conducted fairly, impartially, and in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support the maintenance of case files and an investigation database for accurate record-keeping.
- Assist in security screenings for new employees and contractors.
- Support the Senior Investigation and Industrial Relations Officer in managing employee relations issues relating to investigations.
- Assist in disciplinary hearings by providing investigation reports and evidence.
- Ensure investigations align with legal and ethical standards, including human rights principles.
- Monitor workplace compliance with health, safety, and security procedures.
- Report breaches of safety and security policies to management.
- Assist in reviewing company policies related to investigations, security and industrial relations.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Senior Investigation and Industrial Relations Officer and other relevant stakeholders.
- Other duties as directed by the Senior Investigation and Industrial Relations Officer, Superintendent – Industrial Relations or HR Manager.
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, Law, Industrial Relations, Criminology, or related disciplines.
- Must demonstrate good oral / written communication skills in English.
- Computer literacy is essential- Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook.
- Team Player and result oriented.
- A valid Tanzanian driving license.
- Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness.
Experience and competencies needed.
- Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience with investigatory procedures and practice, prosecutions and convictions.
- Performing tasks under minimal supervision and monitoring.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Demonstrate high working ethics, integrity and disciplined conduct.
- Manual driving competence.

Accountant at Barrick

Responsibilities
- Live Barrick Safety culture by ensuring all incidents/ accidents are reported and investigated accurately, in accordance to procedure and on time; and assist with any other accident investigation when required.
- Identify, notify and/or rectify all unsafe acts, situations and hazards within the workplace.
- Visibly integrate safe work practices into Commercial activities.
- Create and maintain awareness of cost controlling to all user departments and advocate ownership up to HOD level.
- Create and maintain accurate cost reports in a manner that reflects accurately & meaningfully activity-based costing.
- Ensure full utilization of SAP system to effectively control Cost as per the plan by training departmental users and planners.
- Drive weekly and monthly departmental cost review meetings and track cost saving initiatives to achieve the budget/ Plan.
- Cost allocation Journals are updated and posted effectively and on time.
- Ensure timely reporting of all Financials reports.
- Ensure Accrual accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure timely and accurate Weekly KPI reports and Analysis against plan.
- Ensure end-to-end GL reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure reconciling items (if any) are closed and justified.
- Review thoroughly all cost allocation and inventory valuation model and identify area of improvement, report any issue that needs to be fixed.
- Perform Net Realizable Value test for Inventory model on every end of the quarter.
- Ensure delivery of accurate on-demand reports required for decision making.
- Ensure effective Petty Cash Management.
- Ensure Fixed Assets are updated accurately.
- Ensure Store Inventories are updated properly.
- Ensure Inter-Company Accounts are processed in time.
- Ensure Foreign Exchange Update is done on time
- Record and maintain required hard copy and electronic files as per Standard Operating Procedure.
- Ensure Audits are conducted accurately and as per schedule.
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce/ finance
- Statutory Registration in Tanzania

- A good knowledge of safety regulations and best practice is essential.
- Previous experience an isolated environment in similar circumstances is highly desirable
