Airtel Money Merchant Sales Officer at TEF CONSULT

Purpose of the Role

The Airtel Money Merchant Sales Officer will be key in recruiting and supporting strategic Airtel Money merchants. The officer will ensure effective onboarding, training, and continuous engagement with merchants to increase transactional values and volumes. The position also requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Merchant Recruitment

  • Recruit strategic Airtel Money merchants, primarily focusing on businesses and select sectors.
  • Conduct KYC (Know Your Customer) vetting and ensure compliance with onboarding requirements.
  • Provide training and support to newly recruited businesses on Airtel Money products and services.
  • Conduct on-site visits to high-value merchants to offer support and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous transactional activities from onboarded merchants.

2. Planning and Support

  • Manage merchant requests for Airtel Money-related information.
  • Ensure proper branding and visibility for Airtel Money merchants.
  • Generate and manage lead databases and assign them to the relevant teams.
  • Coordinate marketing activities, including distributing posters, stickers, and other materials to merchants.
  • Assist in managing Airtel Money enterprise projects and ensure marketing objectives are achieved.

3. Usage and Retention

  • Conduct regular health checks with Airtel Money merchants through phone calls and personal visits.
  • Ensure onboarded merchants remain active and engaged with their accounts.
  • Develop customer intimacy to promote retention and satisfaction.

4. Reporting

  • Submit accurate and timely weekly and monthly reports on merchant activities.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials for Airtel Money products and services within deadlines.
  • Maintain detailed reports on merchant onboarding, training, and transaction metrics.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support day-to-day operations.
  • Provide updates on merchant activities and address any product-related issues promptly.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to support business development initiatives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of Airtel Money Merchant Account acquisition targets.
  • Increase in active and transacting business customers, volumes, and revenues.
  • Timely submission of weekly and monthly reports.
  • Proactive communication and resolution of product-related issues.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Sales, IT, Commerce, Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • At least 1 year of experience in B2B sales or business development in financial or telecommunications industries.
    • Prior experience in merchant account management is an added advantage.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong presentation and communication skills.
    • Positive attitude, team player, and results-oriented.
    • Operational excellence with a strong mindset for continuous improvement.
    • Business development and project management expertise.
    • Excellent planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
