Job Opportunity Advertisement: Drones Operator at Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF) – January 2025

Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF) was incorporated in Tanzania on 4th March 2008 under the Trustees Incorporation Act (CAP. 318 R.E. 2002) with Certificate of Incorporation No. 3352. The Fund replaces the Cotton Development Fund (CDF), which was established under the Cotton Industry Act No. 2 of 2001. Formation of the Fund aligns with the wishes of the Cotton Industry Stakeholders, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 21st April 2006.

The Cotton Development Trust Fund is looking for a qualified, young, and dynamic Tanzanian to fill the following vacant position on a three (3) months contract.

Position: Drones Operator

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Education Requirement:
    • A graduate in IT or any engineering-related field.
    • Must have a valid remote pilot certificate licensed by an approved government or recognized authority.
    • Good knowledge of agricultural practices, particularly in pesticide application methods and regulations.
  • Experience:
    • At least two years’ experience and proficiency in agricultural drone operation.

Qualitative Requirements

  • The candidate must have good communication skills.
  • Should have a good command of English and Kiswahili.
  • Should have good cooperative skills with the ability to work effectively with teams.
  • Must be 18 years old or above.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach groups of agricultural officers the best ways to operate drones.
  • Provide practical and field demonstrations.

Duty Station: Shinyanga
