Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is responsible for the maintenance and development of the trunk and regional roads network in Tanzania Mainland. The agency also conducts axle load control operations using weighbridge scales. The Regional Manager TANROADS Lindi, on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS, is seeking suitably qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant posts for the project of upgrading the Nachingwea – Ruangwa – Nanganga Road (106km) to bitumen standard; Lot 1: Ruangwa-Nanganga Section (57.6km). Entry Qualifications:
- Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered by ERB as a Graduate Engineer with at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review structural drawings for conformity to standards.
- Inspect materials and completed works for compliance with specifications.
- Prepare mini progress reports on drainage works.
- Maintain a site diary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Terms of Service:
- Successful applicants must be ready to work for extended periods in Nachingwea District, where the project is located.
- The successful candidates will be engaged on a 1-year contract for specific tasks.

- At least 7 years of working experience in a related field.
- Must be registered by ERB as a Professional Engineer.

- Supervise conformity to contract conditions and specifications.
- Review existing designs and advise the Resident Engineer on shortfalls.
- Identify and locate all beacons and benchmarks for contractor set out.
- Inspect completed works for compliance with technical specifications.
- Prepare and submit detailed progress reports with updated cost of civil works.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
