The Regional Manager TANROADS, Rukwa, on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS, is inviting applications for the following positions:
Position Title: Materials Engineer – 1 PostLocation: Rukwa Region
Responsibilities:
- Monitor that all approved material samples are organized, properly stored, and labeled in the samples room on-site.
- Ensure that all material supplied and procured conforms to the approved samples.
- Prepare daily reports on the work, approved samples, and the supplied materials.
- Maintain inventories and keep records of all materials activities in the project.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Entry Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, Pavement, or Material Engineering.
- A Postgraduate qualification in Pavement or Material Engineering is an added advantage.
- At least seven years of related field experience, with at least three years in a similar capacity.
- Must be registered by ERB as a Professional Engineer.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Location: Rukwa Region
Responsibilities:
- Supervise laboratory and experiments, ensuring strict adherence to specifications.
- Implement QA/QC procedures in the project.
- Manage the supervisor’s diary, telephone calls, visitors, and records movement.
- Write minutes during meetings and type documents.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Entry Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Diploma in Secretarial Services or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least three years of related clerical/secretarial experience.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

Responsibilities:
- Head the site staff, responsible for all technical and administrative aspects.
- Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Oversee quality control, manage project contracts, and prepare work plans and progress reports.
- Advise on the applications of materials used on-site in terms of quality control.
- Review test results by contractors and recommend next steps.
Entry Qualifications:
- Registered Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or Highway Engineering.
- A postgraduate qualification in Highway Engineering is an added advantage.
- At least seven years of experience in road design and construction, with experience in at least two projects of similar magnitude.
- At least three years of working experience in Sub-Saharan countries.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Location: Rukwa Region
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that laboratory experiments comply with specifications.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure all materials comply with technical specifications.
- Inspect and test all materials, ensuring conformity with project requirements.
- Monitor and report on the implementation of Social and Environmental Impact mitigation measures.
- Keep records and perform related duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Entry Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- At least three years of related experience in material testing and road construction projects.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in written and spoken English.
- Specified Contract for 1 year or more upon completion of the project.
