Director of Treasury
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience
- Education: Master’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Administration.
- Professional Qualifications: CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, or equivalent from a recognized institution is advantageous.
- Experience: At least ten years of relevant experience, including a minimum of two years in a managerial role.
- Certifications: Certification in Treasury Management or a Certified Treasury Dealer Course is required.
Nature and Scope
- Location: 1 Vacancy at Head Office; 1 Vacancy in Dar es Salaam.
- Reporting To: Director of Treasury.
- Responsibilities:
- Assessing, monitoring, planning, and managing the efficient utilization of cash and financial services in alignment with the bank’s objectives.
- Developing and executing resource mobilization strategies.
- Negotiating partnership agreements with corporates, private trusts, and other funders.
- Managing funds received from the Government, its Departments, Agencies, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Financial Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive treasury strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Continuously assess and adjust the treasury strategy to adapt to changing market conditions and regulatory requirements.
- Cash & Liquidity Management:
- Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for financial obligations.
- Optimize surplus cash utilization through investments and short-term financing.
- Banking and Stakeholder Relations:
- Establish and maintain relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.
- Negotiate banking services agreements to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks, including interest rate fluctuations, foreign exchange exposure, and counterparty risk.
- Develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Investment Management:
- Oversee the management of investment portfolios, balancing risk and return.
- Evaluate and select appropriate investment instruments and strategies to achieve financial objectives.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and the Board of Directors on treasury performance, liquidity, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage treasury back-office functions, including posting and reconciliation, Export Credit Guarantees, letters of credit, and money market activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service:
