RUWASA is established in accordance to Clause 42 (1) of the Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 5 of 2019 The core responsibility of RUWASA is Development and Sustainable Management of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Projects Other Functions are :- Plan, Design, Construct and Supervise Rural Water Supply and sanitation Projects Dam designs and Construction Hydrogeological Survey for the underground Water To register, regulate the activities of Community Owned Water supply Organization 

Thoroughly assessment of water Technologies for easily implementation of the projects

     Water sources selection To have extension workers at the Ward/village Levels for proper operation and Maintenance of the water Projects and thus to have a sustainable water project  Water Technician for technical backstopping Assistant accountant for Financial control
