Program Manager - Global Program and Technical Excellence (GPTE at Jhpiego
The Program Manager works in collaboration with the Senior Portfolio Manager and Program Finance to support and administer programming Tanzania and provides overall management of the portfolio including planning, implementation and review of the strategic programming plans.

The Program Manager) is accountable for the identification and determination of overall priorities for the assigned program area. Informs the build-out, development and implementation of solutions that address programmatic needs.
This position owns, builds and fosters relationships with the Tanzania country office, US based management and leadership teams, the Hub Director, donors and subrecipients to drive work activities in alignment with broader strategies and through the application of strong project management methodology, practices and tools..

- Bachelor’s degree in public health or project management. Master’s degree in the related field is preferred.
- 7 -8 years’ experience managing health or HIV/AIDS programs. Hands-on project management experience
- At least 5 years’ experience managing donor-funded health programs in Tanzania with working knowledge of USAID.
- Experience supervising five or more senior project staff leading regions/ supervision experience
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, and demonstrating commitment to teamwork, learning and growth, and motivating colleagues.
- Results-oriented and adept at data use for decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for different audience in Kiswahili and English.
- Demonstrated self-management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability).
- Competency using MS Office Suite (email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% time.
