We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join our team, responsible for fleet management, New business development and process development in the logistics operation. The ideal candidate will be to take care of the Revenue growth, day to day Customer Management, Driver handling and day to day fleet management.

The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that reports on Revenue, Cost,  productivity, margins and company process and adherence.

  1. Duties and Responsibilities:
  2. Logistics Revenue growth:
  • Identify and develop the Logistics revenue growth by bringing in New contracts and desired margin.
  • Plan and manage with internal logistics stakeholders and meet their Logistics requirements.
  • Able to negotiate and bring in contracts with the External Customers with high margin and service from Logistics service providers with ideal negotiated rate.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize logistics operations
  • Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for logistics operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, including variance analysis and trend identification of the growth and margin analysis.

b. Cost Control:

  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage fleet movements with the help of direct reports.

c. Process Development & Implementation:

  • Develop and Contribute to the creation and implementation of best-practice logistics vision,   strategy, policies and processes to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, or frequency.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, inbound and outbound, or customer issues.
  • Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or branches and advise of cost implications and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement.
  • Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements
  •  Ensure IT systems in place are effective, maintained, and accurate.
  • Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process.
  • Ensure products are transported appropriately to ensure the quality of goods during transportation.

d. Systems and Technology:

  • Able to understand and implement logistics software and systems, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

e. Leadership and Communication:

  • Able to lead a team of Drives and Logistics staff, train them and communicate properly.
  • Collaborate  with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer service.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, as needed.
  • Anticipating potential issues and implementing preventive measures by providing relevant information and support to the Head Of Logistics or Senior Management or the CEO to make decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a  background in logistics, Sales & Customer handling exposure and system knowledge. With a mind set  to develop the Logistics business to get more new customers and make the Business profitable.

The Junior Transport Officer will be responsible for the revenue generation and the growth of the Logistics business with profitable margin.

The ideal candidate will have a  background in logistics, Driver handling exposure, Knowledge of the Insurance process, road transportation rules and system knowledge. With a mind set  to develop the Logistics business to make our fleets to give maximum utilization and make the Business profitable.

The Tracking Officer will be responsible for the Individual truck wise revenue generation and the growth of the Logistics business with profitable margin.

  • Coordinating and placement of trucks for Both EAF and External transport customers on time at the right location.
