Currently CVM is implementing programs for empowering domestic workers both local and migrants, minors and young mothers in Bagamoyo, Chalinze, Morogoro Municipal, Dodoma Municipal, Iringa, Ruvuma, Tanga, Dar Es Salaam, Lindi and Zanzibar.

We are therefore searching for a young/junior worker to enter into the project team. The junior social worker will be based in Bagamoyo office and work to support vulnerable young mothers, domestic workers and minors in Bagamoyo and Chalinze District Councils.
2. 1 Job Description
The Junior Social Worker will be responsible for providing technical and programmatic support in promoting access vocational skills development for young mothers, promote training education and professional training for minors and domestic workers. The Junior Social Worker also will be generally responsible in the project design, planning and implementation of activities.
2.2 Job Description
- Identifying, mobilizing and recruiting young mothers for vocational skills development in sea weed, horticulture and fish processing
- Organize and coordinate training activities for young mothers in the prescribed areas.
- Monitor regularly the project progress and write reports
- Facilitate to identify the field attachment for the graduate young mothers, development contractual arrangement with site managers.
- Facilitate the young mothers to establish self-owned businesses and market linkages for their products.
- Identify and recruit domestic workers into the Association/Branches.
- Mentoring domestic workers and working to promote minor domestic workers to go back to school or be enrolled to vocational training centres.
- Conducting training activities for Domestic Workers and stakeholders
- Recruit and facilitate minor domestic workers to access primary and secondary schools as per the guidelines
- Organize and conduct trainings and workshops for promoting domestic workers rights
- Negotiate with employers re allowing Domestic Workers to assess education
- Follow up Domestic Workers in educational programme in school and get results
- Monitoring the project impact, bringing on board authorities and other actors to address issues of domestic workers,
- Keep track on project progress through the dedicated forms and perform activities of monitoring and target reaching;
- Participates in meetings with partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders;
- Promote recruitment, salary increase and contracts of new Domestic workers per Association and Branch
- Compiles assessments and surveys related to domestic workers situation in the Country;
- Advice and support to CVM management on issues affecting young female domestic workers.
- Advocacy and promotion of CVM’s mission and mandate;
- Conduct regular discussion with D/W on educational programme and with beneficiaries
- Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice through identification of best practices and lessons learned.
- Providing technical support and backups to domestic workers Association and branches
3. Qualification & Experience Required
- Diploma OR Bachelor in social works, Community Development or related fields;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience on social works or project management with NGOs/CSOs;
- Previous experience in working with Domestic Workers or Young Mothers will be added advantage;
- Demonstrated success working effectively with deadlines;
- Ability to communicate in English and Swahili is essential;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Demonstrates integrity by modelling the CVM’s values and ethical standards;
- Excellent listening skills and empathy.
- Ability to work effectively and with sensitivity across barriers such as language, culture, and distance.
- Good experience in project management, advocacy and knowledge management.
- Initiative and creative in solving problems with strong facilitation and analytical skills
- Strong ability to work both independently and in a team
- Experience in managing abuse cases against child and women
- The candidate should possess the emotional stability to lead and guide the large community of domestic workers or Young mothers by maintaining the required high standards.
- The present vacancy is open for Tanzanian nationals only
- Computer –Word, powerpoint, Pivot tables and excel knowledge is essential
- Ability to use smartphones and different digital applications
- Undertake whatever activity may be required for fostering the vision, work and the interests of the Organization and/or may be requested by the CR and CVM Director.
