Country General Manager at DHL
Job Purpose:
To support of DHL Supply Chain Tanzania commercial growth agenda by building and maintaining profitable business units via managing the P&L, build high quality and trusted business relationships within the customer’s leadership team, building a strong business pipeline, pro-actively manage business renewal agenda, ensure that operational and customer satisfaction is sustained and people management.

Key Accountabilities:
- Develop local strategy to achieve annual EBIT targets on the business units
- Manage the P&L of the business units to deliver on the agreed GP target and run the DSC sustainability agenda
- iaison with all clients; monitor KPIs to ensure quality standards and performance targets are met
- Collaborate and coordinate internal functions that support the sales process (BD, Solution Design, HR, IT, Legal, Opex, SheQ, Finance, etc.); to develop proactive solutions and answer incoming RFQs & BCAs
- Ensure quality of delivered services and proactively address customer issues
- Report on a monthly, quarterly (QBRs) and annual basis on the business unit financial performance
- Lead sales & account planning meetings to identify customer’s supply chain requirements and business objectives
- Built and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and establish customer network on a working level (coach network)
- Prepare and conduct customer satisfaction and value assessment research meetings
- Collect and share knowledge and best practices (also cross-country)
- Recruits and develops the members of the country leadership team; performance, mentorship & coaching
- Lead a culture of engagement
- Own the financial performance of the country business as per operational, financial and investment plans; overall responsibility for DSC Tanzania budget delivery and P&L
- Spearhead Business Development and growth agenda of the country
- Overall country coordination and One Point of Contact: CXM/Certified programmes/Go Green/Decarbonization/Compliance/EOS etc.
- Cross BU collaboration with other DHL Group BUs

Qualifications:
- University degree level or equivalent professional qualification
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum 8 years supply chain and logistics experience, with a minimum 5 years in senior management
- Business, P&L ownership and commercial acumen
- Experience in team management & leadership across several functional areas or businesses
- People management skills – inter and intra communications skills
- Country experience within logistics
