JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania is established under Article 62 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Additionally, Article 88 of the Constitution establishes the Parliamentary Secretariat responsible for enabling the Parliament to perform its duties. In this regard, the Parliamentary Secretariat announces job vacancies for various cadres to enhance its performance. All qualified and capable Tanzanians are invited to submit their applications to fill the job vacancies as specified below:

Recommended:

1.0 ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER GRADE II – 1 POSITION

1.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Administrative Officer Grade II

i) Supervising administrative and operational activities in the institution; ii) Supervising the implementation of various laws, policies, regulations, and procedures of the institution; iii) Identifying, analyzing, and advising on the needs for work tools for employees; iv) Keeping records of important events in the institution; v) Supervising/coordinating the issuance of identification cards to employees; and vi) Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

1.2 Applicant Qualifications

The applicant should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a Government-recognized university in Administration, Public Management, and be proficient in using computers.

1.3 Salary Scale

Salary scale is PSS D

2.0 TECHNICIAN GRADE II (ELECTRICAL) – 1 POSITION

2.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Electrical Technician Grade II

i) Inspecting and reporting technical faults in electrical systems; ii) Handling minor technical faults in electrical systems; iii) Designing and proposing small electrical projects; iv) Monitoring and verifying electricity bills; and v) Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

2.2 Applicant Qualifications

The applicant should have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a government-recognized institution.

2.3 Salary Scale

Salary scale is PSS C

3.0 TECHNICIAN GRADE II (MECHANICAL) – 1 POSITION

3.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Mechanical Technician Grade II

i) Inspecting the quality of vehicles, machines, and equipment and providing appropriate advice; ii) Performing minor repairs on vehicles, machines, and equipment; iii) Preparing technical reports on vehicles, machines, and equipment and submitting them to the supervisor; iv) Preparing a Preventive Maintenance Plan for vehicles, machines, and equipment; and v) Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

3.2 Applicant Qualifications

The applicant should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a government-recognized institution.

3.3 Salary Scale

Salary scale is PSS C

4.0 PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST GRADE II – 1 POSITION

4.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Pharmaceutical Technologist Grade II

i) Identifying, preparing, and ordering drug and medical equipment requirements in their area of work; ii) Dispensing drugs and medical equipment to patients according to doctor’s instructions; iii) Compounding and preparing medications; iv) Storing drugs and medical equipment; v) Educating the community on the proper use of drugs; vi) Inspecting drugs, medical equipment, and reagents in their area of work; vii) Reporting adverse drug reactions; viii) Preparing reports on drug and medical equipment usage; ix) Conducting quality checks on drugs, medical equipment, and reagents; x) Conducting various inspections in places where drugs are stored; xi) Keeping records of drugs and medical equipment; and xii) Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

4.2 Applicant Qualifications

The applicant should have a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology of three years from a government-recognized Health College, be registered with the Pharmacy Council, and hold a valid work license.

4.3 Salary Scale

Salary scale is TGHS B

5.0 DENTAL THERAPIST GRADE II – 1 POSITION

5.1 Duties and Responsibilities of Dental Therapist Grade II

i) Identifying and treating common oral and dental diseases; ii) Filling and extracting teeth; iii) Participating in planning and implementing Primary Health Care services; iv) Keeping records of service tools and equipment; v) Keeping records, preparing, and providing implementation reports; and vi) Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

5.2 Applicant Qualifications

The applicant should have a Diploma in Dental Therapy from a government-recognized institution, be registered with the Medical Council, and hold a valid work license.

5.3 Salary Scale

Salary scale is TGHS B

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i) All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens not exceeding 45 years of age, except those already in government employment. ii) All applicants must attach a birth certificate. iii) Applicants who are already Public Servants and have acquired qualifications to enter a different cadre must route their application letters through their current employers.
iv) Applicants already employed in entry positions in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November 2010. v) Applicants should attach detailed CVs with reliable addresses and telephone numbers, along with the names of three reliable referees and recent passport-size photographs. vi) All applications should be accompanied by certified copies of academic certificates by a Lawyer/Advocate, which include Form Four and Form Six certificates for those who have reached that level, and certificates of completion of various training considering the qualifications for the respective jobs such as:

  • Degree, Advanced Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, and Basic Certificates;
  • Computer Training Certificates; and
  • Professional certificates issued by boards/institutions overseeing the profession. vii) Form Four and Form Six result slips WILL NOT be accepted. viii) Applicants should have a National Identity Card or its number. ix) Applicants who studied outside Tanzania should ensure their certificates are verified and approved by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE). x) Applicants should not have been convicted of any criminal offenses. xi) Applicants who have been retired or left the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary. xii) Applicants submitting forged information will face legal action. xiii) The deadline for submitting job applications is 2nd August, 2024.
