  1. Lawyers’ Environmental Action Team (LEAT) is a non-governmental and non-profit environmental law organization established in April 1994. LEAT in collaboration with WWF Tanzania and Mpingo Conservation Development Initiatives (MCDI) has secured funding from the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, facilitated through the European Union and WWF Tanzania, to implement a three-year project (2023–2026) titled “Integrated Approach for Transformation of Tanzania Fuel Wood Value Chain (TFWVC).” This project intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
  1. The consulting services (the Services) include: the translation of key and strategic laws, regulations, guidelines, and other documents relating to forest management into the Swahili version and distribute them to government organs that are responsible for investigating and prosecuting forest and other related crimes for an estimated period of 15-man days.
  1. LEAT now invites qualified and experienced individuals to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services. Such information may include updated detailed CVs duly signed, certified copies of academic and professional certificates, and descriptions of similar assignments undertaken.
  1. The shortlisting criteria: (a) Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in law, energy, forestry management, forest extension and publicity, policy development, natural resources management, environmental sciences, development studies, social sciences, or related disciplines, (b) Strong interpersonal skills, innovation, and the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within diverse teams, (c) Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a related field, demonstrating strong organizational skills, (d) Proven experience in translating legal and technical documents, particularly in environmental conservation or forestry, and (e) Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili, with familiarity in Tanzanian legal terminology and cultural contexts.
