Role Purpose
To meet and exceed monthly sales targets through the generation of new business specifically for, but not limited to, the Access and Connectivity product suite for Fibre to the Home (FTTH). In addition, the FTTH Sales Lead role requires sales mentorship of a team of Sales Executives to meet and exceed their targets in specific sales territories.
Within the assigned territory, FTTH Sales Lead is responsible to resolve customer complaints, staffing problems, tracking competition activities and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a business development strategy based on market analysis and a comprehensive understanding of the FTTH offering and positioning (together with the full suite of Airtel Telecom services)
- To execute all required activities to generate new business opportunities (cold calling, networking, referrals, activations, community marketing, social media communications etc.)
- Continuously maintain a sound knowledge of the company’s products, commercials, policies and procedures, in order to identify and progress new business opportunities that meet the company’s strategic and profitability goals
- Collaborates with Line Manager and cross functional leaders and peers to develop sales targets and strategies in your area,
- Directly or indirectly through your team in your area, consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs,
- Providing ongoing training, motivation, and development of sales team to ensure that sales and profits are effectively managed and maintained,
- Qualify all new sales areas, prospects and progress sales activity to deliver forecasted orders
- Develop and effectively manage strong relationships at multiple levels within prospects
- 10.Facilitate the installation process for new business and manage the client relationship until handover to a designated Account Manager
- Constantly provide feedback to management as to market requirements and conditions relating to the company’s offering and positioning
- Provide regular sales reports as required by management for pipeline and forecast analysis
- To provide sales mentorship to between 10 and 15 Area Sales Executives to assist them to drive sales into a specific territory and increase customer acquisition within that territory

Qualifications and Experience.
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
- Bachelor of Business Administration or any equivalent qualification.
- Project management Certification
Relevant Experience.
- 4+ years of experience in Sales and Marketing experience from Telecom/Devices selling/ / Satellite TV industries or other related fields.
- Category Understanding – Understanding the competition landscape within Tanzania – players, the market size, regulations, technologies used devices offered, spectrum used etc.
- Technology Understanding: Needs to understand solutions across both 5G and FTTH.
- Should be able to guide and drive cross functional teams.
- Able to motivate and encourage the team to ensure sales targets are met
- Able to plan and execute team route plans and evaluate performance on daily basis
- Good Command in English & Swahili
