As an Assistant Director of Finance, you are responsible to assist in managing all Hotel accounting and financial requirements in an environment of tight control.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Be familiar and up to date with all policies of both the Hotel and Rotana Groups regarding standard practice instructions.
- Manage closing of books and preparation of financial reports in accordance with Uniform System of Accounts (11th Edition) and Hotel Polices
- Ensure that the Corporate Office and Hotel reporting deadlines are met.
- Review and reconcile General Ledger, Bank Accounts, P&L and ensure they are complete, reliable, and faithfully represent the financial position of the Hotel.
- Adequate review of Receiving Reports, Invoices, Expense Reports, Payment Vouchers, Credit card reconciliation, daily income and General Cashier Reports to ensure that they are duly authorised and free from misstatements and in compliance with hotel policy.
- Supervise and review monthly payroll preparation and ensure timely disbursement of salaries.
- Ensure that the internal controls (financial and otherwise) are functioning in an orderly and efficient manner and ensures adherence to hotel policies, safe-guard assets and secure as far as possible the completeness and accuracy of records.
- Ensure that all law and fiscal regulations of the country of location (which affect the financial matters of the Hotel) are complied with.
- Supervise the finance team and ensure that they are adequately trained, and performance is up to the standards.
- Coordinate with Internal and External Auditors in completing Audits.
- Ensure the safekeeping and updating of all leases and contracts and all other legal records and document which may affect the financial status of the Hotel.
- Supervise at the end of the month, the closing of the books and the subsequent timely preparation of the required financial data.
- Ensure that local tax matters, including both income and all other taxes, are properly handled.
- Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment.
- Comply with the hotel environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.

Skills
You should ideally have a degree in hospitality management or a related field from an accredited college or university with preferable previous experiences in the same role or with fundamental hotel commercial background within a similar market segments. You must be a good computer literate with effective and outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
