The key purpose of this role is to operate of the malting and associated process areas, the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and carryout maintenance activities for the malting wet and dry plant.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment

Maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated devices
- Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation/ systems
- Plan, and prepare the job
- Carry out repairs/ maintenance
- Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems
Operate process
- Prepare for production
- Operate and monitor machines performance
- Ensure cleaning of machines
Optimise production performance
- Interpret and implement production plan for the shift.
- Measure and record performance attributes
- Optimise usage of resources
- Support the team to improve process quality
- Facilitate team problem solving
- Monitor quality.

Profile:
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Ideal – Higher Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering plus Maltings or Brewing Certificate
- 12 months on the job training @ SKAP process
- Ideal – 3-6 months on the job plus Siemens S7 PLC Basic training (Electrical only) ATO program L1-9 efficiency
- 1-2 Years experience as a Mechanical Artisan or Electrician
- Qualified, trade-tested artisan
- Trade: preferably in Millwright, Electrical or Mechanical
- Prior experience in Maltings /FMCG environment
