Tobacco Cooperative Joint Enterprises Limited (TCJE) was established under the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013 as a Joint Enterprise for the purpose of facilitating the operation of Tobacco Industry and promoting economic interests of members such as Tobacco Marketing, Agricultural Supplies and all matters related with tobacco development of the affiliated Secondary Societies in accordance with Cooperative Principles and Practice.

LAWYER-1 VACANCY-MOROGORO

Nature and Scope.

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager. The candidate is expected to display sound judgment and decision-making with outstanding problem-solving and communication skills.

To ensure success, He/ She should be determined, professional and well informed with a keen interest in upholding the law while protecting a client’s rights. He/ She will display natural leadership qualities with fantastic interpersonal, written and public speaking skills.

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Draft, review and negotiate contracts, lease and other legal documents which the enterprise signs with stake holders such as (suppliers of Agro inputs, transporters, banks and other legal entities )
  2. Identify legal or contractual issues and develop new approaches to resolve complex issues.
  3. Monitor legal risk in documentation and giving guidance on the acceptable assumption of risk.
  4. Chief advisor to the management and Board of TCJE on all legal matters of the Enterprise.
  5. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for natural and juristic persons.
  6. Remain current on federal and state laws, regulations, and practices affecting the enterprise business.
  7. Conduct legal research and gather evidence.
  8. Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before documents are executed.
  9. Explain the law and give legal advice.
  10. Offer legal representation at arbitration or mediation hearings.
  11. Manage regulatory and compliance-related services.
  12. Facilitate innovative solutions to client problems.
  13. Offer legal representation to clients in court proceedings on civil or criminal matters.
  14. Manage and oversee paralegals and legal assistants.
  15. Prepare pleadings, notices and make appearances in court.
  16. Carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by General Manager from time to time.

Qualification, Knowledge and Experience

  1. Bachelor degree in law (LLB) with exceptional academic credentials from a recognized University/Institution.
  2. At least 3 years’ experience at a law firm or within an in-house legal department.
  3. Advocate with a license to practice law in the country will be an added advantage.
  4. Experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing legal documents.
  5. Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
  6. Natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
  10. Good written and speaking communication skills in English and Swahili.
  11. Must have 30 years of age or above at a time of application.
  12. Should have computer skills.

INTERNAL AUDITOR-1 VACANCY -MOROGORO

Nature and Scope

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager. The candidate will be responsible to add value and improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and a sound judgement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
  2. Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans.
  3. Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, and flowcharts.
  4. Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process.
  5. Chief advisor to the management and Board of Directors on all audit matters of the Enterprise.
  6. Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement.
  7. Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.
  8. Maintain open communication with management, Board of TCJE and audit committee.
  9. Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum.
  10. Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions.
  11. Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.
  12. Carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by General Manager from time to time.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  1. Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance from a recognized University /Institution.
  2. Holder of an internationally recognized accountancy qualification such as ACCA, CPA (T), CFA.
  3. At least three (3) years working experience as Internal Auditor.
  4. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
  5. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports.
  6. Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations.
  7. High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  8. Sound independent judgement.
  9. Good written and speaking communication skills in English and Swahili.
  10. Must have 30 years of age or above at a time of application.
