INTRODUCTION
TAHA is implementing a project namely Vijana Kilimo Biashara (VKB) funded by the WFP in Arusha and Manyara regions. The project intends to ensure that over 70% of the targeted 7,000 small holder farmers, especially women and youth engaged in tomato, onion and horticulture value chain to sustainably increase income, become food resilient, secure job and have a market share in Arusha and Manyara by December 31st 2024. In the efforts to improve post-harvest handling of produces (carrot value chain) and increase productivity, TAHA intends to carry out constructions of; carrot washing facility at Sura village in Arusha and irrigation schemes for Ngyani and llikiding’a villages in Arusha. For a successful outcome, an external consultant is required to provide his/her technical and analytical guidance to TAHA for this activity.
OBJECTIVES
- Reduce post-harvest losses and transportation costs in carrot value chain encountered during transportation in search for an appropriate washing facility.
- Improve water use efficiency and increase productivity in the designated project areas.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Design/provide architectural drawings and Bill of Quantity (BOQ) for the 2 constructions (carrot washing facility and Ngyani irrigation scheme)
- Assist TAHA in conducting tender evaluation and identification of eligible contractors for construction of carrot washing facility and Ngyani irrigation scheme.
- Provide technical expertise and supervision for the two constructions by providing physical visits to the sites at least 3 times a week or as may be required.

Clarification on the Advert
- All correspondence related to the RFP shall be made in English.
- Should there be any uncertainty, the Bidder shall seek clarification in writing through e- mail to: procurement@taha.or.tz copying mollel@taha.or.tz;
- Any clarification sought by the bidder in respect to the RFP shall be titled CLARIFICATION – (Insert RFP Title).
- TAHA will only respond to requests for clarification received no later than Wednesday, 15 2024.
