Refugee Council Tanzania (DRC) is an international non-governmental
organization which provides assistances and promotes durable solutions
for refugees
and internally displaced people, on the basis of humanitarian
principles and human rights. Danish Refugee is a humanitarian actor in
Tanzania. Since 2015, as part of the Burundian Refugee Response in
Tanzania, DRC works in the sectors of camp

management, Community Based Protection, livelihoods, General Food Distributions and shelter small infrastructure in Nduta & Nyarugusu camps. Mtendeli, one of the three designated refugee camps in the Western Tanzania-Kigoma region, closed on 6 December 2021 and over 21,000 refugees and asylum seekers were relocated to Nduta refugee camp. In Tanzania delivers integrated multi-sectoral assistance combining CCCM, livelihood programming, individual and community-based protection, general food distribution, as well environmental preservation and regeneration. In Burundi, DRC supports returnees in their reintegration efforts through the provision of protection-focused services in transit centers and areas of return. DRC also implements livelihoods, food security and climate resilience projects through agroecological-based resilience design in ecologically degraded zones of Burundi.
