STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Completion of secondary school education.
Experience:
At least 3 years of logistics operations experience in the refugee camps,
Experience monitoring various aspects of logistics operations.
Experience in supporting warehouse management.
Experience in supporting inventory management.
Experience in data entry and extracting routine reports using corporate systems.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English and Swahili languages (both) written and oral.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
These jobs are found in WFP warehouses and operating under close supervision of a Senior Storekeeper.
JOB PURPOSE
To support receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities in order to
maximise quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to
support the best storage management practices in compliance with WFP
warehouse guidelines and standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Support receipt/dispatch commodities including transhipment (truck to
truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or
delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities
including the quality in compliance with the established standards.
2. Prepare and verify warehouse and transport documents, and maintain
confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records, to ensure
immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate
requirements.
3. Support daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory
checks in compliance with the warehouse management requirements.
4. Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and
quality of the commodities received/dispatched and handled, and refer to
the supervisor for appropriate action.
5. Support implementation of appropriate measures to safeguard food and
non-food commodities to ensure quality control using standard preventive
measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization
received from the supervisor.
6. Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take
appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-utilization and
well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards.

The WFP Tanzania Country Strategic Plan 2022-2027 seeks to ensure that

natural resources. This objective will be achieved by supporting
smallholder men and women producers to diversify livelihoods, reduce
post-harvest loss, and improve access to information, technologies, and
markets.
JOB PURPOSE
The Supply Chain Unit is looking into recruiting a National Logistics
Officer (Rail Cold Chain Project – Horticulture and other local produced
fresh products) reporting to the Head of the Supply Chain. The
candidate will coordinate, manage, lead on, and provide expert advice
and oversight to the rail cold chain logistics operations to be
implemented by Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC) and partnering with
other key supply chain functions to ensure an integrated supply chain
approach to meeting the rail cold chain logistics services need
delivered to the beneficiaries.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Contribute towards the development of rail cold chain logistics plans
(horticulture and other fresh food products) and processes ensuring
compliance with wider logistics policies and WFP standards.
Support rail cold chain project (horticulture and other fresh products)
through day-to-day operational activities following standard processes
and contributing, directly or indirectly, to the effective delivery of
cold chain commodity services to beneficiaries.
Support the Head of Supply Chain in the implementation of the supply
chain strategy, lead and participate in actions of national capacity
strengthening in line with the Country Strategic Plan and manage
operational activities for a Country Office, to ensure successful
implementation of rail cold chain project (horticulture and other fresh
products).
Collect and analyze data through research and networking with colleagues
to recommend actions to the supervisor to improve the performance of
rail cold chain logistics operations (horticulture and other fresh food
products).
Conduct portions of financial analysis and budget reviews, drawing out
insights and recommending actions to the supervisor to optimize the use
of available funds.
Work in close collaboration with cross-functional counterparts including
railway (TRC) to align cold chain activities and promote an integrated
supply-chain approach to fresh food delivery services.
Guide support staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with analysis and queries.
Collate data and contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely
reporting, supporting a WFP-wide view of rail cold chain logistics
activities that enables informed decision-making and consistency of
