Sales Manager at ALAF

1. Main purpose of the position:

• To drive the growth of sales for Framecad Light Gauge Steel Framing & Trussing solution segment as one of the identified business acceleration programs and meet set out targets for Tanzania

• Accelerate penetration of light gauge Steel Trussing through collaboration with industry players and direct selling techniques

Recommended:

• Ensure all projects are profitable and customer payments and project milestones are achieved on time in full

• Initiate concept developments with marketing to expand the scope of Framecad in the built environment and position the same as a SMART and Green solution

2. Key responsibilities: 

a) Build and grow a sales team in Tanzania to drive the growth of light gauge Steel Trussing and Structures

b) To achieve the annual targets both in terms of volume and value

c) Formulate sales strategies toward achieving set business and segment targets

d) Collaborate with marketing function and identify potential/new business opportunities and new market segments

e) Formulate policy and guidelines in handling business contracts, securing required contact and background information on clients and competitors, and creation/management of client database

f) Prepare sales forecasts, objectives, and development of robust project pipelines

g) To develop a robust pipeline of projects for Ultra span through engagements with several stakeholders groups to drive volume and value engineering solutions

h) Build relationships with Architects, consultants, builders, specifiers, and other related stakeholders

i) Coordination with internal departments for design and estimation based on customer`s requirements/consultant`s drawings for a project quotation

j) Manage the entire life cycle of project delivery in conjunction with Project and Technical manager

k) Ensure efficient customer relations management and customer service

l) Ensure customer accounts are within credit limits, cash collection, and debtor`s management

m) Monitor competition closely and provide regular reporting with respect to competitor strategy, products, and prices

n) Ensure efficient utilization of workforce, equipment, and material and maintain staffing level as per the company standard

o) Recruit, train, and develop the sales team and help them achieve sales targets in volume and value

p) Perform any other duty as may be assigned

1. Qualifications required:

i. Minimum academic qualification: Technical Graduate in Engineering or Architecture

ii. Qualifications as an added advantage: Masters in Business Management preferred. A sales and Marketing Diploma is an added advantage

iii. Professional registration: Affiliation and Registration to Professional bodies in Engineering/ Building/Construction Industry
