PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all engineering infrastructures, activities and plans relating to engineering services required for surface activities. The role provides direct output in the designing, implementing, and maintaining of all infrastructures on the surface to support the Life of Mine Production plans.

3. Asset Management
- This role automatically forms part of the Geita Standards Committee members
- Develop an asset management (engineering) plan for all major Surface Infrastructure including rollout and integration of the Asset Management Framework, in a collaborative approach with the Reliability Engineering
- Conduct internal audits and over-inspections to ensure adherence and compliance to asset management plans/strategy
- Setup and manage the infrastructure engineering document repository for drawings and manuals
- Review and/or Set the Service strategy for all surface infrastructure equipment leading to the implementation of a maintenance philosophy and scheduled maintenance programs that are aligned with operations to achieve set targets/plans, and substantially increase reliability of surface infrastructure
- Developing effective plans and use of engineering capital for maintaining asset integrity and other improvements. Put in place the necessary plans and monitoring process to anticipate issues rather than being overtaken by them
- Effective use of resources including funds and equipment. Monitoring the stock levels of critical spares and supplies relevant to the Surface Infrastructure
- Manage, oversee, and monitor all service infrastructure to support day-to-day mining activities.

4. Strategic role
- Support the Mining team in Life of Mine planning by providing early input into the design and constructability process for all new build infrastructure
- Develop conceptual designs, cost estimates and project schedules for all new infrastructure and upgrades to support Life of Mine strategic plans
- Proactively manage and lead infrastructure projects and engineering construction functions, with a strong safety, cost, schedule, and quality focus ensuring safe constructability remains a priority. This includes but not limited to HAZID’s and HAZOP’s, cost and schedule development and ongoing review.
- Manage, oversee, and monitor all infrastructure services to support day-to-day mining and non-mining site activities
- Advise and guide the management team on best practice and fit for purpose engineering infrastructure outcomes.

5. Engineering Infrastructure Capital & Projects
- To serve as the engineering representative on all surface infrastructure capital projects and represent the proposed capital projects on to SIBC and all other committees
- To set up and maintain the engineering infrastructure capital management process in conjunction with the GGM Capital Projects Champion.
- To co-ordinate plans, manage and execute engineering surface infrastructure projects in all GGM operations
- To manage both Asset Integrity (AI) and Stay in Business (SIB) capital for all engineering infrastructure
6. Plans, Procedures, Standards and Documentation
- Develop and maintain the Life of Mine infrastructure plans, specifically infrastructure new builds and other infrastructure project construction activities, as a key sub-plan to overall Mining Plan.
- Provide input and support into establishing and maintaining the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), budget, schedule, and construction work packs.
- Oversee the project Requests for Information (RFI) and Technical Query (TQ) process.
- Provide input into HSE plan.
- Provide input into crane lift studies.
- Review and input into project contractor procurement process.
7. Technical Training & Development
- Conduct engineering development panel interviews
- Develop skills matrices for all engineering infrastructure work types

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage and document all developments within and close to tenement boundaries and ensure proper software documentation of reports in both GIS & Scanned mode so that the record is accurate, secured and centrally available. This includes photographs and maps of the compensated areas
- Participate and contribute to all land compensation actions in accordance with the GGML land and compensation policy, in collaboration with the grievance and community liaison officers to ensure that reported ASM&SML related complaints and grievances are clearly and timely resolved in line with existing policies and procedures.
- Collect data using GPS device, aerial photography and other tools for interpretation purpose covering the status of the tenement before and after activities conducted by the Company and other stakeholders, including the Tanzania Services Forests Agency.
- Assess and advise the Senior Supervisor on land access issues involving 3rd party that may potentially affect the interest of the Company
- Produce monthly tenement status depicting areas that have been invaded by unlawful activities such as illegal mining, deforesters, illegal grazing and farming, including coordinates of open and backfilled voids, farmed land and damaged forests

The role holder is expected to build and sustain confidence to enhance trust, mutual and sustainable partnership between the Company and external stakeholders in the surrounding communities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Community Development / Relations, Development studies, Laws, Public Relations, or any other related academic background.
- A Master’s degree in related fields will be an added advantage.

- Prepare detailed and justifiable budget, work plans and initiate annual budgets to ensure all necessary tools, means, transport and other resources are properly justified and presented to the Senior Manager – Sustainability.
- Ensure the Company’s Social Closure Plan is implemented, updated and properly and regularly communicated to the stakeholders accordingly.
- Assist and advise identification of important stakeholders (consumers associations, charitable organizations, community-based organizations, etc.) which are development-oriented and can contribute to the Company’s Social and Economic Development activities.
- Develop Plans, Terms of Reference (ToRs), Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be used by the team in executing their tasks to meet the agreed KPIs.
- Translate Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for stakeholder consumption where applicable and to ensure that the stakeholder community is aware and conversant with the Company’s values, standards and other appropriate ways of doing its business.
- Foster and facilitate networks of stakeholders that can assist in ensuring the community’s understanding and support of the Company’s social support activities.
- Devise innovative means to improve the sharing of information on GGML-supported community projects and other Social and Economic Development initiatives; thereby drawing in civil society groups, academia, NGOs and others to engage in the general Community Social Investment processes.
- Engage Management and, where applicable, consultants in preparing the Company’s Business Plans addressing matters of social relations of the Company.
- Organize and moderate forums such as conferences, town halls, workshops, site visits and exchange programs between internal and external stakeholders to create and maintain common understanding, cohesion and mutually beneficial co-existence and ensure the Social Licence to operate is maintained.
- Champion and mainstream inclusion programs based on gender, youths, people living disabilities, issues of HIV/AIDS, etc., in planning and implementing various social and economic development programs funded by the Company.
- Promote the practice and respect for Human Rights among the team and external stakeholders.
- Strategic social analysis, engagement, and social planning to maintain the social license to operate
