DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recommended:
i.To ensure correct equipment registers are maintained
ii.To oversee the operation of all ETDCO Equipment are being used in compliance with the requirements of the Transport Policy
iii.To ensure all drivers/operators are competent to drive/operate Equipment and have a valid driving license
iv.To ensure activities are coordinated to enable the most efficient use of equipment Facilitate Fuelling services through Suppliers (GPSA etc.)
v.To assist to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual repair and maintenance progress reports from projects and submit the same to the Management;
vi.To monitor Vehicle utilization including preparation of all vehicles reports for management decision.
vii.To assist to facilitate timely renewal of Motor Vehicles Insurance and Road License are renewed on time
viii.To assist in the development and maintenance of routing schedules for individual sections;
ix.To ensure the correct equipment maintenance is carried out at the reasonable cost
x.To ensure that all log sheets and other records are accurately maintained for all transport inputs
xi.To provide performance indicators to departments during budget planning and preparation
xii.To maintain Planned Preventive Maintenance schedules and co-ordinate maintenance planning with all ETDCO departments (sections) and equipment users
xiii.To monitor expenditure on fuel and maintenance to ensure it is in line with the ETDCO overall transport budget allocation

xiv.To assist in the selection of suitable workshop facilities for the maintenance and repair of ETDCO transport means and carry out monitoring of selected facilities’ performance
xv.To provide information and advice necessary for equipment procurement disposal and replenishment
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of FTC/Diploma in Automobile engineering, Automobile Mechanics, Auto electrical engineering, or Auto electro Mechanical engineering, . Transport Management, Logistics Management, Logistics and Transport Management will be an added advantage.
REMUNERATION AS PER ORGANIZATION’S SALARY SCALE

i.To ensure optimum vehicle availability for company business operations
( performance will be based on vehicle availability index);
ii.To record routes log book for keeping of vehicle fuel utilization history and ensure passenger verification of route covered;
iii.To make follow up on repair and maintenance of vehicles at assigned garages by TEMESA ;

iv.To drive Company vehicles with required professionalism for maximum road safety and to ensure vehicle is not incurring damages to its parts through high diligence;
v.To Maintain Vehicle cleanliness and observe staff safety;
vi.To ensure employees are transported to various work sites on time to maximize productivity;
vii.To perform any other work related duties as directed by the supervisor that is within the confiners of ethical standards of the company.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), Basic
Driving certificate, a valid Driving License Class C or E, one year of
experience in driving without causing any accident. Advance drivers
grade two Training certificate and Motor Vehicle Mechanics Trade Test
will be an added advantage.
