Position Summary
Ifakara seeks a qualified and experienced Data Officer. The Data Officer will support and maintain the data systems of the Mm4Mn project in close collaboration with the IT Coordinator/Principal Investigator (PI). The Officer will support the project team by developing data management and data cleaning plans, reviewing and analyzing data discrepancies, managing and resolving data quality issues together with the clinic staff, and routine reports to the study team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up the various data systems associated with the project.
- Contribute to the design and programming of the data collection tools.
- Develop the data management and analysis plan together with the research team.
- Set up project monitoring dashboards to monitor data collected from using the CRFs
- Conduct regular data quality checks and data cleaning.
- Develop technical manuals, SOPs and training materials for the data-related components of the project.
- Together with the PI, monitor adherence to standards related to data security, including user access and database documentation, performing backup and recovery of program databases.
- Together with the IT coordinator, troubleshoot technical problems and escalate issues that could potentially impact the timelines and deliverables of the project.
- Participate in data analysis and report writing.
- Regularly report on the progress of assigned tasks to the project team.
- Perform other additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following quantitative fields: Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics.
- At least 2 years of experience with data systems, programming, and analytic experience (experience in the health sector with health information systems would be an asset).
Skills and Competencies
• Knowledge and interest in IT and computer systems, and software development.
• Knowledge of SQL language (querying and manipulating), a good understanding of relational databases, ODK, etc.
• Skills/knowledge of one or more programming languages such as R, STATA or Python.
• Ability to manage data, including quality-checking, cleaning, anonymizing, dispatching, and backing up.
• Proactive attitude, including willingness to learn new technologies and skills quickly.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Good organization skills and attention to detail.
• Team working spirit as well as the ability to work independently.

Position Summary
Ifakara seeks a qualified and experienced individual to work as a Research Officer (Laboratory Technologist) at the Clinical Trials Facility in Bagamoyo. The Research Officer will support the molecular processing of the samples in clinical trials conducted at the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine tests in assigned areas of the laboratory according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality manual, Safety manual and Sample collection manual as well as in line with GCP, GCLP and approved trial protocols.
- Ensure specimens collected and received are documented or managed properly before analysis.
- Ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to when collecting, labeling and storing all laboratory specimens.
- Ensure that laboratory data including laboratory findings are recorded as per protocol and stored appropriately.
- Perform isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), and separation and storage of serum and plasma.
- Assist in hematological and clinical chemistry sample analysis.
- Document and report protocol deviations and implement CAPA for the reported deviations.
- Perform malaria antibody ELISA, Intracellular cytokine staining, and ELISPOT assays to assess the immunogenicity of candidate vaccines.
- Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI).
- Ensure the provision of high-quality and accurate lab results.
- Trace documents and archived samples.

Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Clinical Chemistry or other related fields.
- At least 1 year of extensive working experience.
- Previous experience or familiarity with immunological assays such as ELISA, ELISPOT, ICS, PBMC isolation, and serum/plasma separation.
• Registered and allowed to practice as a Laboratory Technologist.
Skills and Competencies
• Hard working and flexible on time schedules.
• Competency in microscopy and other laboratory assays such as ELISA, ELISPOT, Flow cytometry, Biochemistry, Hematology and Microbiology.

Position Summary
Ifakara is looking for qualified and experienced Field Interviewers (Caretaker Exit Interviewers) to join the DYNAMIC project in Ifakara. They will discuss with 25 caretakers of children aged 2 months to 5 years in five health facilities. During these interviews, they will document the understanding of caretakers in regard to what the health care worker told them (e.g. when to return to the health facility, what treatment and management plan was provided). They will also document the caretaker’s satisfaction with the consultation. The Field Interviewers will be required to travel to five health facilities in Morogoro region where they will conduct the interviews.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow appropriate training and conduct interviews with the selected type of interviewees using the provided tools.
- Travel to health facilities at given schedules.
- Confirm that consent from the patient and clinician was adequately acquired.
- Ensure safe-keeping, maintenance and return of project equipment provided for data collection for the purpose of the interviews.
- Ensure the protection, rights, safety and well-being of the study participants, including maintaining participant’s privacy and confidentiality.
- Ensure the study is done according to research ethical guidelines.
- Report to the supervisor in the case of problems or challenges.
- Provide a weekly report on the work performed, communicate with other study staff regularly at scheduled meetings and participate actively in all meetings.
- Retain a high level of public and community support and trust, e.g., in relation to research ethics and effective communication.
- Perform any other job-related duties assigned by a Supervisor/Coordinator/Principal Investigator as required from time to time.

Position Summary
Ifakara qualified and experienced Field Interviewers (Clinical Observers) to join the DYNAMIC project in Ifakara. They will be responsible for observing consultations involving children aged 2 months to 5 years at 4-5 health facilities. During these consultations, they will document whether certain symptoms were asked or spontaneously given by the patient/caretaker, and document what physical exams were performed. They will also document the final diagnosis, treatment, and management plan of the consultations. The Field Interviewers will be required to travel to 4-5 health facilities in Morogoro region to conduct the observations.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate all payments in the system.
- Prepare the payment voucher for all initiated payments in the system.
- Ensure that all payment vouchers are stamped.
- Ensure that all expenses are located in the proper account code and cost center.
- Make timely payments for all approved requests such as imprest, Per diem through bank and mobile money.
- Initiate the receipt for all unspent amounts and receivables in the ERP.
- Make filling and labeling of all paid vouchers.
- Submit the statutory as stipulated in the URT taxation act timely.
- Ensure that all payments are fully supported and approved.
