Currently, we are working in partnership with FHI 360 on Epidemic Control (EpiC) in Dar es Salaam and Lindi regional, JHPIEGO through USAID Afya Yangu project in Katavi, and MDM AHADI Project in Dar es Salaam.
In extending our support by strengthening the enabling environment and science-driven framework for sustainable marine protected areas and fisheries co-management in Tanzania we are offering the following open vacancy for interested candidates;
1. Job Title: Project Team leader
Full Time
Minimum Qualification Masters
Years of Experience 10 years
Specific Responsibilities:
· Leading marine ecological research studies
· Conducting benthic surveys and artisanal fishing pattern mapping surveys or other nearshore marine research
· Handling and analysis of Marine Survey data.
· Writing technical reports for international donors/organizations or other international audiences.
Education and Experience
· A master’s degree/Ph.D. in marine science or a related discipline
· Demonstrate experience leading marine ecological research studies in Tanzania or similar nearshore marine environments in the western Indian Ocean (WIO)
· At least 10 years of practical experience in the water field, experience in marine benthic surveys/ surveys/ another nearshore marine ecological research.
· Significant demonstrable experience in marine survey, data handling, and analysis.
· Significant demonstrable experience writing high-quality technical reports for international donors/organizations or other international audiences.

2 Job Title: Field Unit Leaders

Minimum Qualification Bachelor
Years of Experience 5 years

· Marine navigation to generate systematic baseline data.
Education and Experience
· A bachelor’s degree or higher in marine science or a related discipline.
· Significant demonstrable practical in-water field experience in marine benthic surveys and/or other nearshore marine ecological research.
· Significant demonstrable experience in handheld GPS navigation and/ or smartphone navigation applications.
