Joseph Pombe Magufuli has been credited with strengthening the PCCB,
which had previously been described as a “toothless dog”
The PCCB was established by an act of parliament in 2007 and mandated by the law – (Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act No. 11 of 2007 (PCCA) – to prevent corruption, educate society about the effects of corruption and to enforce the law against corruption.
