The Wami/Ruvu Basin is located in the eastern Tanzania and has a catchment area of 66,294 km2. The basin has two major rivers
of Wami and Ruvu with an approximate area of 43,742 km2 and 17,789 km2 respectively and it has coastal rivers located to the southern part of Dar es Salaam which makes the whole.
Recommended:
The Head office of the Basin is located in Morogoro Municipality with other sub-offices in Dar es salaam and Dodoma.
Vision: To be a basin with green and clean environment whose water resources are sustainably managed for the wellbeing of the population, socio-economic development and resilient to water related disasters.
Mission: To coordinate effective and efficient planning and implementation of integrated water resources management and development to achieve green, sustainable, inclusive and resilient development of the basin.
