LHRC was established in 1995 as a non-governmental, voluntary, non-partisan and not-for-profit sharing organization, with the purpose of working to empower and conscientize the people of Tanzania on legal and human rights. LHRC envisions “a Just and Equitable Society” We are on a Mission to empower the public and promote, reinforce and safeguard human rights and goodgovernance in Tanzania. LHRC is for people like you, People have been the heart of this organization.

We just want to create legal and human rights awareness among the public and in particular the underprivileged section of society through legal and civic education, advocacy linked with legal aid provision, research and human rights monitoring. LHRC being an Advocacy organisation, this program is a hub where advocacy issues. We are on a mission to track and respond to incidents of human rights violations.
