ROLE PURPOSE

The Driver will support the ongoing implementation of the advocacy work in Dodoma Liaison Office, will provide transportation services to Plan staff in a safe, courteous and timely manner to enable the liaison office effectively carry out its operational plan.
Dimensions of the Role
• Directly reports to the Admin, Logistics and Compliance Officer
• Responsible for vehicle maintenance and management
• Provides clerical duties to Administration, Logistics and Compliance department
Accountabilities
Vehicle maintenance and management
- Cleans vehicle and perform routine checks to ensure it has proper working tools on a daily basis.
- Refuels vehicle using an approved fuel voucher and records this on the vehicle log sheet timely.
- Ensures that after hours travel have prior formal approval by the administration officer
- To report immediately to the Admin, Logistics and Compliance Officer all accidents involving Plan vehicles
- Compliance to the motor vehicle policy provisions
- Transports staff and designated people to all areas as instructed.
- Ferries goods to required points as may be directed from time to time.
- Ensure that all Plan assets are not left unattended in the vehicle whilst parked.
- Files in accurately vehicle log books and submits to the Admin, Logistics and Compliance Officer
- Prepares monthly vehicles’ maintenance reports for allocated vehicles.
- Dispatch and deliver all documents between Plan and other service providers
- Performs clerical work in the office when required. This includes banking, filing, sourcing quotations writing purchase orders and general data capture
Communications and working relationships:
- Administration staff – Informing – level High

- External stakeholders – Informing – level Low
- Class C drivers licence plus valid defensive driving certificate
- Certificate from NIT or recognised institution
- Certificate in logistics, administration/procurement an added advantage
- A minimum of five years of experience in vehicle maintenance and driving
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills
