Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) operates exclusively in Tanzania and is the 2nd largest beer company with a market share of 25%. SBL is a subsidiary of East Africa Breweries Ltd (EABL) – which is in turn partly owned by one of the world’s biggest alcoholic beverage companies, Diageo. The company is an integrated demand/supply business with 3 operational breweries in Dar Es Salaam, Mwanza, and a third one in Moshi, which is situated in the northern part of the country near the Kenyan border. SBL’s flagship brand is Serengeti Premium lager, which accounts for 50% of SBL sales volumes. The role is meant to cater for all needs of the utilities/engineering services at the Dar plant. The person is expected to work hand in hand with packaging Team, Brewing Team for all materials and components and the engineers and technicians on site to ensure all their fuel and tools needs are fulfilled and report the same to the Stores Supervisor on site.

POSITION:Stores Assistant

Reports To: Stores Manager

Purpose of the role

The role is meant to cater for all needs of the packaging/brewing and utilities/engineering services at the Dar plant. The person is expected to work hand in hand with packaging Team, Brewing Team for all materials and components and the engineers and technicians on site to ensure all their fuel and tools needs are fulfilled and report the same to the Stores Supervisor on site.

Key Accountabilities

  • To receive and issue engineering spares and equipments received at the plant.
  • To check materials being received against documentation to ensure all items are correct and report any variances.
  • To ensure proper materials storage and handling.
  • To receive and issue furnace oil and diesel to the Engineering Department at the plant as requested.
  • To ensure stock levels for the fuels (HFO and diesel as well as lubricants) is well maintained at the plant.
  • To conduct periodic stock takes as required for all the engineering spares and fuels at the plant.

Qualifications and Experience Required

A holder of an FTC (Full Technician Certificate) Certificate from a recognised technical college or Procurement and supply management from any recognizable Institution.

Sound experience of at least one year.

Leadership Responsibilities

Directly managing a team of logistics controllers

Reports To: Logistics Site Manager

Purpose of Role

Ensuring the opening and closing stock balances and that empties are available for packaging.

  • Prepare and publish the opening stock balances
  • Consolidate and publish the stock position of beer ,spirits, empties
  • Ensure all inbound inventory is receipted and posted timely both physically and, in the system, (SAP)as per the SOP
  • Prepare and publish daily stock transfer tracker at an interval of 2 hours daily
  • Coordinate all process and logistics activities that are not limited to systems inventory movement posting like scrapping, intra-location stock, transfers, rework
  • Manage daily reconciliation
  • Preparation of an incidence report whenever there is a safety hazard
  • Conduct the toolbox meeting

Qualifications and Experience Required

Qualifications 

Certifications in relevant field of study

Experience 

  • 5 years hands-on experience in warehouse/logistics operations, 2 of which must have been spent on logistics scheduling, preferably in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in warehouse management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, HACCP, ISO14001& OHSAS, 18001 standards.
  • Proficient in the use of ERP systems, preferably SAP, Maximo/TALLY
