Construction began in mid-2009 and the school opened in January 2010.
Libermann School has brought English language primary education to the
children of this slum/squatters area of Dar es Salaam. In addition to
the classrooms, the project included site infrastructure, water wells
and tanks, sewage and septic tank systems as well as a new Rectory to
house the priests.
The children are now getting a Catholic education where no such facility was available previously.
The school is tuition paying, however, only 17% of families are able to pay the full year’s tuition. Children of all religious backgrounds are accepted and their families take great pride in the Catholic education their children receive.
The Kipawa – Libermann School was recently rated highly by the Tanzanian educational authorities and placed in the top 10 best rated schools in Dar es Salaam.

The Need Secondary / High School Scholarships for High Achieving Students
Upon graduating from the school many deserving students do not have the financial resources to continue their secondary or high school education at a challenging campus.
Thus we are interested in awarding scholarships to those high achieving boys and girls that they may move onto a Spiritan-connected secondary school. A year’s tuition to such a school is $2,500 which includes: room & board, tuition, uniforms, ID card and medical insurance.
