NATIONAL SERVICE
Establishment
National Service was established on 10th July 1963 emanating from the ideas of the Father of the Nation, the late President Julius K Nyerere who once said " National Service is the demand made by the Nation on youth and youth response in fulfilling their duty in building the Nation".
Purpose
Legal Mandate
National Service is operating under a set of laws passed by the parliament 'National Service Act No. 16 of 1964 (Re 2002)'.
Vision
Through the National Service, Tanzania is envisaged to be a country whose youths are well nurtured so as to constitute a productive part of the society which has a high sense of:-
To equip Tanzania youth with the requisite knowledge, skills and culture values which will enable them to contribute positively to the social-economic development as well as to the Defence and security of the Nation.

Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs

JWTZ
is the armed forces of Tanzania. They were set up in September 1964,
following a mutiny by the former colonial military force: the Tanganyika
Rifles. From its inception, it was ingrained in the troops of the new
TPDF that they were a people’s force under civilian control. Unlike some
of its neighbors, Tanzania has never suffered a coup d’état or civil war.
